Rambo IV knife prediction?

At this rate they better spray some lacquer on Harrison Ford for Indiana Jones XII.

:P

IIRC, the new Indiana Jones is currently in production- I think they're shooting in Thailand. Indy will be carrying a cane instead of a whip this time. No franchise is sacred.

At slys age I think it ought to be a plastic butter knife from the retirment village cafateria. First a new rocky and now a new rambo? Lets dig up Adam West to star in the latest Batman movie. I dont know why they would make another sequel to either movie when the last 4 Rockies sucked and the last Rambo was a joke to. Instead of letting a great set of movies stand on there own greed and wallets rear there ugly head. At this rate they better spray some lacquer on Harrison Ford for Indiana Jones XII.

Edit: Not that I wouldnt like to see more custom kinves in movies, I just cant believe they are even doing this :P

The new Rocky was pretty good. The new Rambo might be good as well.

Rat I had heard that the latest Rocky was a much better film than the last 3 or so but I still think it should have stopped at 3 (maybe even at 2 for the rocky series, 3 was funny but not up to par with 1 and 2 imo). I still wasn't going to spend any money on it. I'll wait for basic cable and unless I hear amazing things about Rambo it will probably fall into the same category. I think no matter what I will never get the "Rambo" experience again as I am just not as gulible now as I was in my early teens. I find the same phenomenon when Hulk Hogan comes out of retirment, some things are just best left in your memory (new star wars anyone?) IMO.

When will this movie start at theaters? I can't wait to see it. Rambo was my no.1 hero when I was a teenager.

A return to the first Lile knife would be a nice touch, that knife was an integral part of the story line.

First Blood was an excellent film, it dealt with a tough situation that both Vietnam Veterans and the rest of our Country had a hard time dealing with. Let's hope the soldiers who return from Iraq and Afganistan never have to face the same thing.

Actually, the knife theme needs to be freshened up. I'd like to see Rambo take up with a tactical hawk.

I think the new film for Sly/Rambo would need a back to basics big arse bowie like a special Busse custom shop. Jerry would know what to do....

The knife (and the film) would certainly gain more attention with a well known maker.

....or maybe even the Chriss Reeve jereboem?

Something big, bold and "honey i'm home" in your face, you know!

So does anybody know the actual storyline?

Internet Movie Database (IMDB.com) is reporting that the story involves missionaries being held hostage in Southeast Asis. Rambo has to organize a rescue mission. The movie is still in pre-production so lots of things can change between now and when it is finally released.

the knife should be a lead character and used extensively...i'd prefer a storyline based more on homeland defense (i.e. modern day Red Dawn)

(i.e. modern day Red Dawn)

Hey, Rambo may be unrealistic, but it's not Sci-Fi! ;)

I'm looking forward to this movie. And I hope the knife is not made by a popular production knife company. It should be a unique custom - a knife everyone will remember - like in the last three Rambos.

I'm too close to 60 to criticize the man. I only wish I were in that kind of shape. As far as his acting goes, I'm not a huge fan, but I have watched all the Rambo movies more than once. They are pretty hokey, but thats what sells. I think he should use one of my knives in the movie! That way, I can say, "See Daddy's knife killing the Godless Commie? " If he's reading this forum, maybe he'll borrow one. The RTAK would be nice.

In the Rambo IV preview at the end he holds his knife to his chest and it sure looks like a GIL HIBBEN knife design all the way.

yeah, I didn't think much of the Hibben design in #3, probably only because I expected another, larger hollow handle design. I guess he didn't really use the handle space in #2, so it made sense to ditch that idea.
Still, when I think of Rambo and Hibben knives, I can't help but picture Rambo in the forest with one of Hibbens fantasy knives (running along, getting snagged on everything)...

I would like to see a return to the original knife. Classic.
Hell, as long as it grows each time.
