You have said nothing wrong,, mabey stuff some people won't want to hear,, but,, nothing wrong,, the one good thing is that. Jerry will fix your knife ,, and I bet you get a V edge upgrade too ,, no charge, lol

maybe a harder one slipped past qc? mistakes happen

Most likely it's a case of that Sarsquatch having one of the thin, convex "competition edges" Busse put on those things. It seems the Busse has a much thinner edge geometry than the Randall, and that doesn't take too well to chopping concrete. I don't think that Sarsquatch is faulty or unusually hard. It's the edge - really not made for chopping concrete. But one could always send it to Busse to confirm it either way.

Still, I am quite surprised. For some reason there is no closeup of the Randall's edge, but if a stainless steel Randall hasn't chipped while chopping concrete, it's hard to not be surprised. But as to the Randall knives being for collector's only - well, by design the Randalls are users rather than just decorative art knives. Certainly they're designed so that they can be used in the field, instead of just stored in a safe. :)

The Busse fans are doing a lot of backing and filling on this test. Gotta love those forged Randalls.

Yeah, but the next time I want to hack my way out of a prison cell, I sure hope I have my trusty Randall with me.

Seriously, this test has little "real world" meaning. It does, however, show how well the blade holds up under insanely adverse circumstances. Most every knife that costs more than about $20 today will do alright under "normal" use.

Not at all. That particular Randall can be had right now for somewhere in the $450-$500 range; considerably less if you're patient enough to wait the five years it takes to get one from the shop. That's comparable to the Busse, or even less than many of them.

well I know the Sarsquatch can be found for about $300 here on this forum and I looked up the the Randall 14 S can be purchased as a buy it now for as low as $685 with free shipping, so I'll have to call you out on the price. And if you still think your right, I'll buy you a mint new Sarsquatch and you can buy me a new Randall 14S :)
if you find other market price, you let me know
