For some time now we have been working on a deal to come out with a print version of a hardcore, no bullshit, survival magazine. If this happens, the first issue would be an annual that will probably come out late next year, but it will be piggybacked with another well-known magazine that's on most of the news stands. So, we're looking at a LOT of these being printed
Not sure if we are going to pull this off or not, but if we do I can guarantee you it will not be your run-of-the-mill "fluff" magazine on how great a freakin' knife or water bottle is. It is going to focus on skills and will probably be pretty hard on the commercialization of the survival industry, as well as the bullshit associated with it. No one will be safe with the objective editorial content found within!
We plan on covering a wide range of survival topics from survival guns to traveling abroad. We will also include E&E (Escape and Evasion) tactics, wilderness survival skills, rescue and other how-to topics. For example, an article on how to start and a maintain a home garden would fit in well with the proposed format, as well as a how-to story on the basics of lock-picking or rigging a proper highline rescue. It won't be the same old boring stuff found in most other magazines.
I'm sure there will be some other items that will hold the readers interest also. Already talking to some of the absolute best in the business when it comes to writing from experience. Should be fun if it happens.
