My first (4)! My cousin has been helping big time, and we've sorta turned my basement and its 70 year old flowered-wallpapered workbench into a shop!

Wow!

Those look really nice, excellent work! Farchyld and Flatblackcapo awesome job! You guys are busting out some clean looking grinds.

Nice, Farchyld! Me being jealous, and SUPER anxious to get moving. BakoBeadz swing into production this week, and I'm thinking of financing a Wilmont or something nice if they sell.

Thanks! Im super happy with them, and super out of steel! I need to decide what to get next. You da man for helping me with my questions :D

Nice! Bako Wilmont sounds like the way to go, good customer service from what I hear too.

What steel next - that is always a tough one! 1084 or 52100 might be a nice comparison contrast with the other steels you have.

I don't know why I thought this, but I was worrying the 3AL2V tubing wouldn't color. I figured no reason to buy 6AL4V since I'm not making locks or blades.

I would think any Ti alloy would anodize nicely and I hear they are all different. Timascus is layered titanium, 6al4v and commercially pure on some if I recall correctly.

Google Titanium grades for some good info.

Green is the toughest color to get so that is a good sign!

Tuffthumbz showed me some killer Timascus he used when I was over there last time, but I was more attracted to the vintage ivory Micarta it was laying against. They busted my balls over that for a good while!

He was telling me he simply couldn't get green- which was the first thing that popped out the day I got my anodizing rig. I set it to 100V, and green!

Antique ivory micarta just does it for me, I know how you feel! It's no the cost, it is the cool factor or what you like. I have a few pieces in my stash.

Green has to do with prep/etch in my opinion. Maybe setup but 90+ volts should do it. Ano is tricky though, sometimes isolating a problem seems impossible.

Last week a BRKs City Knife arrived in CPM154 with Antique Ivory Micarta... I feel like I already shared this.. lol oh well, maybe.. maybe not!

No pics of it, as this isn't the BRK forum!

.... but.. since Bako is a beer floosey and this is the photo thread... cheers!:

Not sure what knife but I like the scale choice and even better pic!

Bears and knives, the age old battle.

well, not really, but my newly made sloyd knife has some artistic abilities built into it! I haven't whittled anything in over 15 years, even then it was mostly fish spears and tooth pics!
