Random Photo Thread!

Cool pics Daniel! I am diggin' the colors in Sara's pic. If you want to try to attract butterflies to photograph or just so Jade can watch them eat set a piece of cantaloupe out.The butterflies will land and munch for a long time.My Dad collected butterflies back in the day. Here is a pic of the out come of a whittlin' session that Jen and I had.

Or she'll get stung by wasps. Wasp trap bait is typically fruit... Gl though!

I had some gnarly wasp, flying death, B-52 sounding, crazy looking and huge critter in the shop yesterday. It was about 1.5 inches long, solid irridescent blue, and scary as can be!

Man do I hate wasps. We get Yellowjackets all over the place here in PA. They're my bane.

Yes... Every su,met the wasps make their home in our yard... Last summer I got nailed 2 different times. Both times mowing, and both times on my calf. AND BOTH TIMES my leg swelled up so large and hard I could not walk for 3 solid days without it feeling like my leg was going to explode... I then went on a rampage. Killed 3 large nests. Die!

oh man, sorry Daniel ! I would feel aweful if Jade got attacked by wasps because of my fruit idea. My Dad was a joker maybe that it what he was up to:D He didn't count on that I would be far to lazy to ever try it. lol. I saw a few wasps in my bak yard yesterday.I might try to shot them with my pellet gun today. The trick is not to get reckless and shot over the fence and hit a neighbor......they hate that:D

Apparently guinea fowl eat scorpions and wasps. I told Ash I wanted to start a farm >.>

Xander,

Try one of these. Tarantula Wasp. Give you an idea, they sting a tarantula, and cause it to be paralyzed. Then they inject their eggs into the abdomen of the tarantula. The larva then hatch, and eat the host! Had two of these bad boys stuck in my house. A fly swatter is a joke, you need to hit them with a steel toed boot.

Jesus H. Christ!!! That is a nasty looking critter! It would make me scream like a liitle girl and run the other direction, lol!

This is what I had in my shop, aperantly hunting the spiders in there! Steel blue mud wasp. About an inch long normally, though the one in my shop was a little bigger.

DRP, That thing is as big as some of the birds we have around these parts. If that thing was in the house I think I would just grab the shotgun and worry about patching the sheetrock later:D

Since Sloth was giving me a hard time about my digital renderings, I figured I would do some old skool shots, Cyanotype!. Aka "blue prints" I just finished developing these and they are drying now. Tis is commercial paper, but I will be making my own soon. Lots of fun to do these, but I do need a bigger mask so I don get the finger prints in the corners, or I will make a sheet holder.

Not sure what happened with the blue spotting on the last one, looks like I had not enough agitation with th organic acids in final washing, or acidity was too high. Oh well, I kinda like it anyways.

Daniel, if you send me CAD prints on either transparancy of cheap thin printer paper I can make you some old skool blue prints of your design as shop art. I don't have a printer currently so I would need you to print it. I only have 5x7 paper right now, too so it should fit in that.

Lots of fun doing these!

Hmmm, I just don't care for HDR or after effects/post production for photography. Short films or video, sure. But I do like the natural image best. I only ever took B&W photography classes, and it was super fun. Working in the dark room is always good times :)

I'll see if I can find anything worth posting.. after I eat more drugs :D
