Who’s the idiot that thought that stuff up. That had to be one complicated paint job. Takes some mad skill to lay stuff like that down 👍👍

I still remember when three stage pearl came out. I had my friend paint my 1990 trans am pearl white. Wow he disliked me for that lol !!! I think we used the paint from Toyota Supra ?

The prep and paint process was idiotic, I could only sand the car/ parts with 1500 or higher grit, have to dark seal the parts, paint black, clear coat ,bake....
Sand again with 1500 , spray in a cross hatch pattern 4 coats, spray 1 dry coat of clear then hammer the second

If the color was spectacular I wouldn't mind it (it's interesting (almost looks like metal no pearl or metallic sparkle) but just not worth the effort for the end look... or for me to make money doing it lol

There’s no way I’d buy a car if I knew that was involved if it had to be fixed !!

I agree with you on the color. Looks like a great job. You should be really proud of that job !! I’m sure their are plenty out there that couldn’t match that color worth a d*%#!!!!
 
From what I heard, insurance companies are actually charging more for owning certain color vehicles because of repair costs


That color is prone to mottle/ look blotchy

And thank you ! Self taught and 24 years in the business

I do miss working on custom stuff though
