There was a helicopter flying overhead just now. Jo sticks her head out of the shop, scowling, knowing that Mark and I will both be standing there staring at the sky uselessly.
Ah, nothing like human nature to lull us into a lack of productivity lol. Lucky my other half is just as guilty as I when it comes to always having to check out a good flyover! :)

Damn Grenock Grenock . I posted that last picture especially for you. I check back and see that you’ve seen my pics… and crickets.
I’m not so much disappointed, as I am hurt.
Dammit, I’m sorry to let you down, I saw it, was gonna make a call back, but then tried to be a better person and just liked the pic, but Nooooooo! You won’t let me do that will you, you want me to be the a-hole, you NEED me to be the a-hole. Fine!!!! You got it, you ugly, sum’ bitch…..

I am so happily to see that you found the rock I donated to the museum with your name on it for you to sit on when you visit. Now, I hope that security can find and punish the vandals that defaced it by carving “U” and “R” in front of your name.

LOL.

Lucky I do not suffer from that affliction. For more than 20 years I've lived about a quarter mile from an unmarked NSA anti-terrorism facility, with an unmarked CIA facility a couple of hundred yards past that (How do I know? Don't ask - but half my neighbors are spooks.). We have literally BLACK helicopters flying over our back yard almost every day and many nights (often well after 11 PM). If I stopped to watch every time one came by I would have a hard time getting anything done. In fact, I often don't even notice them anymore.

There is a funny thing about anyone who has worked for the agency. It goes kinda like this…..

What do retirees, custodians, electricians, admins, cafeteria workers, bus drivers, SPOs and groundskeepers who work or worked for the agency tell their neighbors they do or did for the company? They were all spooks.

What do the actual NOCs and spooks tell their neighbors they do or did? Not a fuckin’ thing.

For some reason I was surprised to find that office admins have letterheads that have the CIA logo on them, lol. I was less surprised to find how much they recruit within families…. And bummed to find that since the CIA is basically a lifetime job, bad office admins are just rotated into other positions.

They also have these snazzy shirts...I forget now who gave me this one:

The "agency" isn't a secret. The Ops and agents involved generally are.

Admins have to have the letterhead to prove they were there so they can tell people they were spy’s later in life, try to keep up!

The family thing would be nepotism anywhere else, however, when it does actually come to secrets, keeping it in the family does arguably make it easier to protect them a little more. Additionally, while frowned upon in most places, there is no issue with dipping your pen in the company ink for the same reason.

We’re they really bad admins or was that their cover?🧐

Regarding letterhead...

When Ray Kelly, (former NYPD Commissioner, Commissioner of U.S. Customs and longtime professional politician), was the Commissioner of Customs, he sent a letter to the Office of Investigations that we in the field were no longer to use the agency letterhead, it was to be used only by headquarters. (Or else!)

He also spent his time on other important tasks like trying to redesign badges, vehicle logos and other stuff that didn't help us put bad guys away...but would look snazzy to his friends.

Yep, “got the t-shirt” doesn’t carry the weight it used to.
This was my case...(along with a DEA co-case agent.). The full 60 Minutes coverage is no longer available online, to the best of my knowledge. Here's an excerpt:

(My partner and I seized planeloads of cocaine and identified the individuals, companies and arrested the smugglers and corrupt officials involved, here and elsewhere.)

ETA: In fairness they did help me and my partner out in Sao Paulo, Brazil while we working on an arms smuggling investigation. So there's that.
