Random Thought Thread

I guess I didn’t explain correctly about the 4.5 UF2 Thoughts. My thought was more towards the hard-use utility factor more then the fighter aspect. I can be a dumbass at times and have been know to just say F-it lets do it live! My uses are primarily utility and then rather modest, but I know me and if it can be broken, I will break it. When I saw the UF2 fillet the concrete block I knew I had met my match and it was a knife i just wouldnt even have to think about before using for whatever.
My ONLY issue is with the length. Its just a bit much on my belt in the locations I have to be in the woods ( think public park, heavily wooded and 20 miles of trails, in town with a combination of soccer moms and meth heads). The FK2 of most excellent and I am guessing so very much stronger then I need but again I am trying to overcome the ME factor.
I was using a Hinderer XM-18 3.5 for my woods knife as I was pretty sure I wouldnt break it but I just hated the ergos of it . That’s what brought me to searching for a fixed blade. If I see something half buried in the ground and it intrigues me I am gonna dig it up. If I see an old knife blade broken off in a tree i am gonna carve it out. I am a redneck so I use tools as tools, I just don’t always use the right tool!

I think you're going to like the DEK2

May I ask, why does it need sharping...

I was taking a deer apart with mine cutting through the bones on the forlegs and it actually cut through the old 6x6 that I was using as a chopping board and hit some rock in the ground on the other side. It needs resharpened.

Edit: split the grain. I feel like I can chop pretty well, but I'm not one hitting a 6x6 yet...

This is the type of thing that you can load a short video of on Instagram and get tons of attention/ views.

Digging through a drawer today ran across my first pocket knife. Small 2 blade buck knife. I started laughing when I saw the larger tip broken off. Dad gave it to me me for my 9th birthday. I was so proud. On tax day dad will have been gone for 25 years. He would have laughed at passing on tax day. A final f you. Brought a tear to my eye. Love you dad miss you.

Thanks guys. Got a little choked up about it. Dad was about the finest human being I have ever met. I was right at 2 weeks of being half his age when he passed. Kind of freaked me out. Sneaking up on his age now has me me freaked out again. Fluke thing killed him hoping to avoid that:)

I hear that Madranchtx Madranchtx I'm a bit freaked out by the fact that I'm as old now as my grandpa was when he passed away. (I was 9 1/2 at the time.)

It's a strange symmetry to the world and an homage to him that it has the effect on me that it does. I think of him daily, and always have.

I've never felt closer to anyone than I did to him.
