Delta means change. It is a reference to an engineering change denoted with a delta symbol. I wanted something to differentiate the work coming from our shop after the development of the new protocol from the work that proceeded it. It is not a reference to high speed low drag Delta Force operators, it is literally just revision control.

... Then Delta covid came. Now people can say "holy shit that knife is sick". Delta covid is like regular covid, just stronger.

It’s been 4 days since my sewer line backed up and flowed out and over the sink in the basement. Now I’m obsessively checking down there almost expecting it to happen again even though the pipe was snaked clean with no other issue.

I wonder how long my anxiety over this will last!

Probably a while.

We're on septic. Before I was particularly familiar with the system, a filter needed cleaning in the tank outlet baffle and a small amount of backup was released into the basement level tub and toilet floor.

Now I don veterinary gloves (shoulder length), open the riser and remove / hose the filter once a year. But I still keep an eye on things.

You are experiencing normal severe post-traumatic stress disorder from a horrible life event. I imagine it will haunt you the rest of your day. I will pray for you.

Sounds like exposure therapy is needed? I’ll set up camp down there for a few weeks and see if the darkness cures it. The good news with that is, our dog likes the cool feeling of the concrete floor so he’ll be comfortable hanging out with me.

Step 1...embrace the suck...

(Thankfully, this image from google...not my property. 🤣)

Oh it sucked, but luckily it wasn’t like your septic tank releasing the hounds lol. I was in the basement the night prior getting my fishing stuff out and everything was fine so I caught it before it could really ruin some things.
I was lucky as well. I heard something coming from the wall or floor, like a stomach making a gurgle sound. Shortly thereafter I saw some small back flow into the tub and on the floor, but it was short work with a shop-vac.

The hardest part was figuring out that it wasn't a clean-out that needed snaking, but rather the septic tank filter which needed to be addressed.
(The original owner couldn't remember where the tank or distribution box was leading to the drain field.) So, that led to a search, and once located, having the covers replaced and some risers installed so I could have the annual pleasure of cleaning the filter to avoid such mischief in the future.

I use these from Lee Valley for that particular chore:

I have had my brand spanking new K18 ("The Widowmaker") for about an hour and nearly killed myself four times already and my left arm is literally cut and bleeding in two different locations. QUESTION: Is this a record?
I feel that there is a story here that warrants a greater explanation… lol hope you’re ok and find a sheath soon!
