Random Thought Thread

I agree 100 percent I am not law enforcement or military, I have never been and hope never in my life to be in a live fire situation

I strongly disagree. I'm always armed and ready. The main thing is that you have to ask yourself if you shoot someone, can you win in court? Pulling a weapon and using it should be your last resort. But as the old saying goes: "I'd rather be judged by 12, than carried by 6".

In all honesty I would like to see the guy get some mental help

But the past few weeks everyone had seen a steep decline and him becoming more and more irrational

I talked him into going to a therapist before and he went and was put on meds, but then started acting way off , sold his car to buy a Walmart bike, saying off the wall stuff , and manic moments becoming worse and worse and more erratic

I think he was on meds said I'm fine , cold turkey went off the meds and it's thrown him for a loop now
you sound like a guy who could treat this guy to lunch. Sometimes people who are in pain just need someone to know it and hear them before they can decide to help themselves.
That's not advice, btw. Just a random thought :)

yoko yoko There’s a lot of good advice mentioned here for your work situation. One other tool you can use is your States dept of labor. Contacting them even anonymous about the situation, work place violence. Will get them looking into this and get the ball rolling.
Still can’t help hearing the alarm in my head going off saying call the police. There are so many resources they can provide other than just arresting him. They can paper him for hospital observation on mental well being. Through this there are many resources for people with mental health issues. I’m just saying that calling the police isn’t a last resort. Nor should you or your coworkers feel guilt about calling them. Again they have many resources and through this he may receive the help he needs. Also , should this person be past the line of help. Well they can handle that too.

One last thing, if you and fellow coworkers are talking. You should setup a text alert/alarm between you. Should something happen or even if this guy is acting worse. First person to notice sends out the text. Followed by call to police

Stay safe my friend

I just watched the 1st 5 episodes of this (the premier) season of "Obi Wan Kenobi" and have enjoyed it. The 6th and final episode for the season is due to air on 6/22.

Chronologically it fits between Star Wars III: The Revenge of the Sith (2005) and Star Wars IV: A New Hope (1977), after Anakin has become Darth Vader and Padame has died after giving birth to the twins, Leaia and Luke.

Leia & Luke have been placed in different homes Leia has been adopted by Bail Organa (a Senator on the planet Alderann) while Luke has been placed w/his uncle/aunt, Owen & Beru Lars, who are farmers on the planet of Tatoonie. Obi Wan, who is one of the last surviving Jedi following the rise of the Siths, has been watching over Luke while in hiding (along w/other Jedi) who are still being hunted by the Sith.

Obi is initially presented as a psychological wreck who has a lot of guilt about having sponsored and trained Anakin, while Anakin as Darth Vader has developed an intense hatred for Obi Wan who maimed and nearly killed him in their duel at the end of the Revenge of the Sith.

The story proceeds from there . . . until it resumes in the movies w/A New Hope where Luke becomes a Jedi and is unknowingly (at least initially) reunited with his sister.

Knowing who lives and dies subsequently doesn't spoil it for me because the "plot" of Obi Wan offers new characters and a new twists to thestory that fits well contextually w/in the overall story line.

The girl who plays the 10 yr old Leia is a bit annoying but, as I recall, 10 yr old girls are notoriously annoying So, I guess she is just being true to type

LOL! ;)

I don't havea "man crush" on Ewen McGregor but I like him as an actor but, if you don't like him, you won't like the "Obi Wan" series because he's the lead actor and the show is all about him.

Double LOL!! ;) ;)
For the Star Wars fans:

If you've never read/come across 'Star Wars IV: A New Sith/Revenge of the Hope', it's a hilarious take on 'A New Hope' in light of things revealed/seen in Star Wars I - III.

The writer makes a few assumptions and takes a few liberties, but for the most part, it's logically consistent (and covers some of the issues that made SW fans go, "Ay... hang on a sec... wut?", when I - III came out).

Hope it entertains you as much as it did me, when I first read it many years ago 😁

In case any of you are wondering what you missed out on today, here is an old crappy picture from 2014 of my CPK OG Double Edged Fighter, on a crappy yellow background. Complete with glorious Blood Groove. Which I sold several years ago. Because I'm stupid. I've sold several knives, but I might regret selling this one the most. Even more than selling my Shiv. Which was also stupid.
