Random Thought Thread

let's say we lived in a world even more clownish that the current one. In this post modern hellscape you could only have one chopper, one field knife and one edc knife, CPKs of course. The fighter, Kephart, boot knives and swords are kinda stand alone so we won't worry about those. I've just push mowed 3 acres of hillside and this thought came to my head, probably just heat stroke/dehydration. let's have em'

I'm here already, my twisted life means keeping it simple and only owning and using three knives is the way for me currently.

I'd like more but am happy with my lot as is. Hopefully things turn around next year for the classic releases.

Anyways, I'd go for

Medium Chopper (to replace my Busse Bushwacker)

Fk2 (to replace my Fallkniven S1)

Dek1 in hand already for edc

Full disclosure, I also have an abused mora companion in my tool box but that lives there permanently. Interestingly I find the Dek and the mora have a similar feel in my hand.

Rubber handled Dek in the future maybe? Interesting thought.

All the time. ever have camp potatoes? you have to put bacon in em, so you're baking bacon.

my question is who the hell invented English?

''BAKING''
''BACON''

I mean comeon!
I love language and its history. If you are interested, it’s 100% worth reading Mother Tongue and Made in America by Bill Bryson. They are funny and casual but also have a ton of great content on where words came from, why we pronounce them how we do, etc.

i am in an equipment update mode and im very interested in a 4.5-5" CPK to replace my convex reprofiled short kbar. hoping for a basic field or fk2, or even possibly kephart. something purpose built to rely on for the continental divide or patagonia. if this isnt allowed here, ill remove it. thnx

I illandsh

This FK2 seem to be still available, just scroll down the post in the link provided below to review:

I noticed that you are very new so this may be an issue for the seller, but still worth a try. Also, you must be located here in the U.S. (I am not the seller).

Good luck.

It’s the same reason that we drive on a parkway but park on a driveway.

…and why are things delivered by car (or truck) called “shipments” while things delivered by ships are “cargo?”

I am not sure if these contradictions are early examples of woke-ism or possibly Russian disinformation…🤔

Logic and common sense seem more and more elusive these days.

well..... theres a couple small maker watches I ''like''... the purchasing power is there but I cant reasonably consider the purchase without truckloads of guilt.

I just cant justify over $400 for a watch.
Absolutely not! That would be absurd, 400 bucks for some overcomplicated machine with such narrow applications. A nice inclined plane, on the other hand, I'd easily pay much more for ;)
