On the subway years ago I was heading home from the federal building in NYC and I saw a perp sizing up a couple of passengers for either a chain or purse snatch...or a full on mugging. I waited until I caught his eye and then nodded at him and pulled my sport coat back a bit. (I don't think I had my badge on my belt, so he wouldn't have see it.) He got off the next stop and situation averted.

Of course, who knows what poor soul would run afoul of him once he left the train.

This convo has steered toward carrying handguns but what I want to know is why shouldn’t I be able to own a semi-auto rifle? Why must I resort to using a lever action or bolt action designed in the early 1900’s, why can’t I use or have a “modern” operating gun?

Hearing guys at work saying the most ridiculous things, then me asking them where they heard that and both responses being "facebook"

Got amazingly lucky today.

Just got done mowing the lawn, then used the leaf blower to blow the grass n stuff off the mower. As I'm walking back to the garage, is when I finally notice the friggin ground wasp/yellowjacket nest 😬

Friggin 1" hole with these assholes flying in and out. I ran the mower over that hole several times, and then was using the leaf blower to blow the grass off the mower, maybe 6-7' away. Somehow, didn't get attacked or stung. 😮

I think I'm going to go buy a lottery ticket to see if my lucky streak continues 😁

P.S.
Just because I got lucky, doesn't mean I'm not going to go scorched earth once it's dark, and turn their little hidey hole into a Winter Wonderland with a mix of Sevin and Tempo dust.
