Why do mice have such big balls?
*AHEM*

''The male with the biggest testicles will produce the most sperm, which means he'll have a higher chance of fertilizing some of his lady's eggs. In contrast, species in which just one male mates with a female during her estrus don't have sperm competition, because the sperm racing to fertilize the female's eggs belong to a single male.''

Also note that a mouse's testicles make up about 5% of its body mass.

Yet another thing I've got in common with mouses.

Hey Jupiter was really bright last night. Supposedly it's the closest to Earth it's been in 59 years. I even saw one of its moons through my binoculars, you guys should check it out tonight.
I've seen 4 of its moons just with binoculars. They should all be visible tonight. One to the left of Jupiter, two more to the right, forming a line with the planet and the moon to the left. Finally one more to the right, a bit further out and above that line.

My 15-year-old boy walks up our road to get the mail. He enjoys his little walks and we appreciate him getting the mail. The neighbor's dog came over onto our property and bit the shit out of him. A lot of these aren't scratches these are gaping wounds that are 1/4-in deep.

I'm fucking pissed
Sorry to hear about this. I didn’t see the post last Sunday.

By the way I want to make clear that I do not want to set a precedent of people starting this particular conversation with Timmy. But this is my forum and I'm going to have a little bit of friendly banter with Timmy.

What power were the binoculars? Wonder how my 60x spotting scope will do?

These were medium quality fixed 8 power nothing special. It's really all about having a clear night and low light pollution where you are. Those 4 are the Galilean moons seen 400 years ago, so they are pretty easy to spot. It is really cool though. It's worth checking where they will be because sometimes they are behind the planet.

Jupiter, Saturn and Mars are wonderful to view through a telescope. (I have 10x astronomical binoculars, but it's hard to hold them steady enough to enjoy for long views.) I also have an 8" Dob...that I drag outside when inspired.
