I absolutely love the DEK’s and will be getting one next spring, knife God’s permitting. My FK2 is amazing but the DEK just screams, “Carry me every f’n where and every f’n day !!!😋

It is tough to beat Arizona Desert Ironwood. It's pretty durable.

I know Bark Rivers aren't exactly popular with a lotta' folks around here. However, I have second(?) production run Trakker, with Desert Ironwood scales, that I've been beatin' on for quite awhile.

I'm more of a "go" than "show" guy, and therefore ain't much for the "natural materials" thing. Admittedly, that particular Trakker was nothing more than an aesthetics purchase. I was completely prepared for the scales to come-apart and separate from the tang and pins. But, I'll be damned(!), that thing has held-up to relentless usage and beatings.

I usually just wash it and put it away dry. However, if I'm feeling particularly generous, I'll slather the scales in a little Pledge "Revive It" or Ballistol, and they come right back to life and love me back for a few more beatings.

Your mileage may vary.

No, no, no, they are tools. It's just they can be used for killing-and so can a hammer.

Hammers can be used for killing but are primarily designed to hammer and pull nails.

K20 and Shiv are primarily designed for killing(maybe I'm wrong, self defense, intimidation or display maybe) but can be used in the kitchen but not designed for.

The K20 and Shiv are designed as a tool for one thing in my mind and UK border forces.

I'd be interested to know if they were designed for another reason.

I'm fairly certain that 99% of the K20 sold will be part of an elaborate kata where dozens of imaginary foes are slain. And maybe some shrubbery.

You can open boxes, shorten chains and nails, cut paracord and rope and stuff, easily reach a box of cereal that's on the top shelf. They have all kinds of uses.

This conversation is probably not the road we want to go down in the event that one of these tools ever has to be deployed in that unfortunate manner.
There are legal ramifications to be considered.

As my pappy used to say, you can take the ninja out of the mall, but you can’t take the mall out of the ninja, or, something like that……
