Hammers can be used for killing but are primarily designed to hammer and pull nails.

K20 and Shiv are primarily designed for killing(maybe I'm wrong, self defense, intimidation or display maybe) but can be used in the kitchen but not designed for.

The K20 and Shiv are designed as a tool for one thing in my mind and UK border forces.

I'd be interested to know if they were designed for another reason.

I don't know what you are talking about.....I need a new pizza cutter, that's what the K20 is for

In 2022, I think the only practical thing Nathan designed the K20 for was to separate you from your money. I’d say he nailed it, perfectly. Everything else is just conjecture.

IMHO, a designer's purpose only carries so much weight (even in a court of law) and everything has its consequences. If I use a screwdriver to dispatch someone, the reason for a screwdriver's existence may be a non-consideration in what my fate may ultimately be. Many things can have multiple purposes, some of which were never conceived of by their inventors. And if you all must know the truth, my K18 works equally well as a giant screwdriver as it does in dispatching zombies.

I was looking at the older sales of the Shiv. It’s crazy to see how in 2015 there were two up for sale by CPK for around 300$ and one of them was up there for days.

One other question; I recall reading something about a proposal that the Shiv preorder be 1 Shiv per post (but I can't recall who posted that), so if someone wanted 3 Shivs, they'd need to make 3 separate posts within that 300 cutoff (just in case this goes the way of the K20 sale). Is that going to be a thing for the Shiv preorder?

Max, I had thrown out that idea but didn't get a response. I also proposed perhaps keeping it simple, maybe that one will get a response. However, I think that it will end up being like the previous preorders with the exception of the K20, i.e, open, unrestricted with pretty good semi-customs options till it gets too heavy to lift even for CPK. First-come-first serve and make your claim fast and early as can.

There are 300 Shivs available for the preorder. That one should last a bit longer, but seeing how popular ANY/ALL CPKs have become, I'm 100% certain the 300 will all be claimed in less than a week. It might stay open for the weekend. Or all 300 might be claimed within an hour. That one, I'm not sure about.

I predict that the 300 will sellout in roughly 10 minutes. I could be wrong, it's happened before, I recall an instance back in '94...

That’s a pretty cool thing to do….as long as it works out. Out of curiosity, why is Bark River not liked around here? Don’t own any, but some are nice looking. Is it a quality issue, or just as a “competitor” thing?

Yeah, I'm 100% confident that won't be an issue. The question is, will that first 100 be claimed within 1 minute of the preorder opening? (IIRC, that was maybe how long the 100 K20s lasted).
