I would humbly suggest that that line of reasoning is both overly optimistic and not grounded in reality.

A little fear, (along with a good dose of common sense in avoiding stupid places and the people that occupy them), can make all the difference in how your day goes.
yeah. play stupid games win stupid prizes.

Situational awareness people. First line of defense. If I have to defend myself using a weapon it will have been a BAD DAY and my life will have changed forever.

Blues,
I guess it all depends on how you look at the world ...as for me and my personal and professional background before i retired i was i corrections officer and after that i was
A supervisor for a armed security company and had to work some of the worst places in town and have seen my fair share of violence : from verbal arguments to fist fights to stabbings and shootings including myself ive had to defend myself many times as well as being stabbed myself twice once in the back and once in the stomach as well as being shot at multiple times and even seeing a coworker being shot and killed in front of me
So as it was my job to go places most people wouldnt... i have to have confidence in my self as well as my skill set as well as show no fear in times where i was indeed scared shitless...But I WILL NEVER BE A VICTIM SO IF ONE WISHES TO DUE ME HARM LESS JUST SAY I WONT GO DOWN WITHOUT A FIGHT !

Speaking of needing to get their houses in order...

BLM is rife with corruption, (and I'm not even referring to the Bureau of Land Management), as are the R & D parties. I've always registered as an independent because no "party" actually represents me and what I stand for. They are full of self-serving parasites who get rich no matter which way the wind blows.

Every sophisticated political survey I've ever participated in online has shown me as a moderate / centrist with a slight lean to the right of center...and a lean toward less governmental intervention rather than more.

If I could have a wish for America going forward, it'd be a return to "moderation" and "compromise" being seen as a good thing, and not weakness of resolve. There are too many damned wingnuts out there on the edges and not enough good citizens willing to roll up their sleeves and take on the beast. (Hell, they won't even admit it exists or what pronouns it goes by.)

I'm as mad as hell, and I'm not gonna take it anymore.

I am of a mind that our political institutions have forgotten (if not straight up abandoned) the concept of shaking hands and making deals. When the whole focus of your political agenda becomes to act as a foil to your opposition then something is clearly wrong. Obstructionist politics lead to a gridlocked government - which, as history has shown us, is exactly what led to the rise of fascism in Italy. (Simplifying, of course, but that's the gist of it)

This is my only ebonite knife, but it’s awesome. So warm!

I don't mind Instagram - it's the only platform that I have any measurable activity on. I'm not bombarded by opinions and I get to experience content more in line with my specific interests - knives, music, art, trucks, etc. The only thing I dislike about it is its association with Facebook.

It's a good thing Nate lives three hours away. He'd never get any work done. We'd be drinking more than we should. Jo would kill us both. Sadie would laugh.

On the other hand...depending on how current events evolve, it may sound like a plan. 🤣

They haven't forgotten how to waste money, though.

But if we're going to just waste money, we should skip the middleman, I could just send all that money directly to Nathan instead of the government stepping in between.

Well, I wouldn't go around asking for trouble.
I got lost in Albuquerque one time and saw a big ass mountain lion run across the dirt road in front of my work truck. Man, that cat was fast! I rolled up the windows, turned around, and got my butt out of there!
