Scott Fischer, who famously died on Mt. Everest and which was chronicled in "Into Thin Air" was with us on the Bonneville climb. This is a picture I took of him at the summit. I was 21. He was about 20.

(My images have faded a lot in the album over the years.)
That is freaking cool Elliot. My dad was a huge mountaineer. Dad has climbed a lot of peaks, he was a tough sob. Rainier, Adams, Hood, St Helen’s, Baker, Shasta, Twin Sisters, Acongua, to name a few. Miss the old man.

I don't know about planter fasciitis in particular, but I did have dry needling once for a hip problem. By the time I got home I was afraid I wasn't going to be able to walk in the house. It was a miserable experience. But 2 days later my leg felt much better and I could actually get most of my free range of motion again. Hopefully if you just had it today it'll get better in the next couple of days. Yeah I was ready to kill the guy who suggested the dry needling it hurt like heck and I was pretty sure he was a quack, but it did work for me.
Oh I’m a huge dry needling fan. I am actually certified to do it and have seen great outcomes with certain injuries and then meh outcomes with others. So when my plantar fasciitis flared up I decided to dry needle on and leave the other with more standard treatments. Well, standard treatment foot is feeling great… DN foot I can barely walk on. Lol Well at least I won’t make the mistake of doing it to someone else.

So glad everyone is ok after the accident. But I really feel you on the totaled car thing. Yotas seem like they’ll go forever with only minimal love.

I like to call it a farm but we don't actually farm anything.

My Dad (*RIP) owned some acreage that we once referred to as a "Game Ranch", that had the Hunters harassing him around June or July of every year, fighting each-other to pay their hunting dues to enjoy their Whitetail hunting during November/December.

Now, it's just a desolate piece of land that I currently own. We still call it a "Ranch", but it isn't even near the active place that it once was.

Pretty sad, really.

you farm knives.

if I were Nathan and Im NOT, I'd keep the car and buy another like it.

you can put the tires on it, move parts over as needed, I'm sure there are handy enough people around to help with that right?

glad injuries weren't worse. stuff is replaceable, health is not.

Keep on trucking everyone. Everything happens for a reason.

When my dad was growing up, he and his brother Mike had a bedroom in the attic. An uninsulated unheated attic* that had an actual hole in the wall for a window. He said sometimes when it would snow, snow would actually come in on them. They would sleep with their clothes in the bed so the clothing wouldn't be cold when they got up to put it on. He says that he would do his homework by lantern light.

He's 80 years old now, a degree in electrical engineering from Oklahoma State and is still working full time. He has a ts clearance and a pilot's license and lives in a big house with with a stone bridge. Grew up "poor as a church mouse". He works hard, doesn't complain about much, and is still very active. A perfect model of a self-sufficient self-made man.

Edit: a two room house about the size of his living room now.
