Random Thought Thread

Some scumbag has dropped off a pot bellied pig at our place. Boils my blood when unwanted animals are dumped off on property because the owners are too cowardly to care for and/or put down themselves. has happened with dogs/cats several times.

almost a week ago, no clue who it is or what is in the tub

yoko yoko I love the awkward phase where it’s partially lined, shaded and pink from working on it, like a bad transition between haircuts lol. I think my sleeve took almost 2 years due to wait times and just adding to it slowly as ideas came up. I did the lower half first then the upper and it’s kinda funny looking at how the guy’s work improved over the whole sleeve, it’s like a timeline up my arm.

Sorry. The bow and card must have fallen off. It was supposed to be a “Happy Holidays” pig.

Seriously, I feel your aggravation. People always dump dogs in the nature preserve around me. So much so, that my wife and a few others started a rescue to foster and find homes for them. Otherwise the county picks them up… and they only have so much room. A lot of good dogs don’t get a fair shake the county route.
 
I was reading an article the other day about First Light Fusion. A UK company that built a huge gun (prototype even uses gunpowder) that accelerates a projectile to about 4 miles per second and shoots it at their fusion fuel to spark their fusion reaction. Most companies working on this use lasers to spark the reaction. The inertial method used by First Light is cheaper, more energy efficient and apparently has a higher rate of success at sparking the reaction.

Once this is done I'll set up appointments to fill in the rest of my lower arm, then work my way up

Both of my babies (*my pootie-tat and puppy-dog) are "throw-aways".

Crystal was definitely dumped. I found her in a very rural area of an adjoining County...quite literally "the middle of nowhere". I'm not sure what the story was with the kitty. My Ex, who worked in animal shelters for a good portion of her life, shattered my heart in a million pieces when she told me, "You'd be shocked how many people move and just leave their cat behind." When I think of my kitty sitting at a back door for days, at a house that was the only home she'd ever known, and wondering why nobody was letting her in, I just want to implode.

I lived downstate where my wife is from for 5 years. The days before we were moving back home where I'm from our cat decided to go off the reservation and not come back to the house to throw up voles/birds/skinks be petted for a few minutes. We were all packed up and out and spending the last night at her parents. It was nerve-racking and I had to go wait at the driveway of the house we just sold for hours before the little scheisskoph saunters up without a care in the world. Don't know what we would have done as we'd adopted her when we lived in Oregon and moved her back east. Still with us at 16yo but now an indoor cat.
