Swinging a 16" Sportsman's axe with two hands (*while I was tired, dehydrated, and alone), and missing my target, was precisely the moment I decided to transition to a large/robust "field" knife. "Slicing my weiner" was exactly what I was trying to avoid.
Yes, but a spiral cut is festive for the holidays. Like a spiral ham. You gotta get in the spirit.

For me? Personally, no. I use my EDC to cut through the steel banding straps on pallets with the use of a hammer. I enjoy a knife that I don't have to be careful with. For you? I guess it depends on what you're looking for in a knife. They're both very durable with good edge stability, excellent edge retention, one is stainless and has slightly higher wear resistance, the other is only stain resistant and almost can't be broken.
