  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Random Thought Thread

On a separate note, being a bit ignorant about how the whole "Carothers" system works, is there a pretty good chance that Nathan and Jo will ever produce the Behemother again? I'd love to have one, but $1500 (*on the pre-owned market) is wayyy out of my league for a blade.

It's gotten to the point that I have to reconsider the ownership of mine. Absolutely love the beast, and it's the one that survived the purge of my other choppers, but damn. At that price point I can't really justify taking it on camping trips anymore. That takes all the fun out of it.

Mine has been on TV

With an acid wash, thin shallow s grind, ecam and a swedge. I bet it's worth a mint

I beat the shit out of it regularly. Y'all ain't getting it. Somebody got my shiv and my utility fighter. I'm not selling my BC. Not gunna happen.

Well put.

I've been down that path with items that I've owned. Somewhere between the conscious and subconscious, I guarantee I had the same thought, but it's more profound when you actually hear someone articulate it.

If I owned one, I would use the hell out of it. Especially if I wasn't planning on selling it. I'm still kicking myself for not buying a Behemother when they were available.

I'm not gentle with my firearms either and most of them cost more than the blades I own. I go upland hunting with my dog almost every day and the wood on my Citori Feather has a ton of scratches and dings.

Normally I would agree, but CPK is the one that I would still use, since it will basically shrug it off. I'd be more worried about losing it than using it.

I don't have a big knife that I haven't tried to beat to death. So, if I had a BC, I'd probably use it too. For me, this ^^^ (*the thought of losing it) would be the turd in the punchbowl when it came to enjoyment.

I've seen knives lost in fields and pastures that were found 5-6 years later while baling hay. I've also seen knives that were dropped/left and never to be seen again. Either way, the experience of owning that knife was just never the same.

I was wondering, too. Then again, if that's a good criteria, we all would have to sell our CPKs every few years and buy new and different ones. :)

Man, I thought people found me weird for carrying something the size of an MC for camping/backpacking...

If you drink more beer, you'll both make up the caloric deficit and stop worrying about your potential strength gains.

I'll send my bill in the morning.

Or, my associate Dr. Yoko can pick up your co-payment on the way to the beer distributor.
True dat. I've known lots of folks who felt a lot stronger after a few beers, often to be accompanied/followed by the familiar phrase, "Hold muh beer...". Phrases after that one, varied 🤣
