It would balance out my Walter Sobchak portrait on the opposite side of the room nicely.

You are too modest. The question is - what's in front of me, what can I do, and did I do it well?

Thank you Vik. You are very kind. I'd like to think I did a good job when and where it mattered. Sometimes it was rewarded with a plaque, an award or some sort of recognition by the agency, or the U.S. Attorney's office. Sometimes only my colleagues were aware. Sometimes only I was.

But I had to answer to myself each and every time, when and where I fell short. Clint Eastwood was correct in saying that "a man's got to know his limitations", and I am well acquainted with my own.

I had a lot to be proud of, and more than a few things to regret. Highs and lows. Like each of us experiences. Cases that were portrayed on "60 Minutes" or mentioned on "Narcos" and a movie or two...and cases where the ball was dropped for highly political or undisclosed reasons by the decision makers in D.C., despite their lip service to the contrary.

And that's all I've got to say about that. I appreciate all of the kind words, and apologize to others for the waste of bandwidth.

Just discovered "Google Voice" and, after some techincal difficulties, got the carrier to turn the voicemail feature on my mobile phone off.

I only use my phone for outgoing calls and always leave the ringer on my phone off (unless I'm expecting a call that I want to receive) because I don't want to be bothered, especially by spam calls that I still get despite being on the "do not call" list.

If you can't contact me by email, text or some other messaging system, too bad.

However, this has been causing me problems w/my medical providers who still operate in the technological Middle Ages and will only contact me by phone and sometimes won't even use a secure msg site like MyChart to do so.

Now, I can just give them my Google Voice # (which I leave in "do not disturb" mode) and, if any of my medical providers leaves me a voice message there, I'll get a transcipt of it by email. No need to listen to voice mails anymore, which I never did anyway LOL! ;)

Sent myself a test messsage and it works.

Problem solved! :)
