Thanks! No one here knew who he was. I Googled after your response. Looks like he was a rally (?) racer, which probably explains why no one I asked had ever heard of him since I don't know anyone who follows that. Seems ironic that someone like that would die crashing his snow mobile. Anyway, condolences to his family, friends, and fans. RIP.

Kenneth Paul Block was an American professional rally driver with the Hoonigan Racing Division, formerly known as the Monster World Rally Team. Block was also one of the co-founders of DC Shoes. He also competed in many action sports events, including skateboarding, snowboarding, and motocross.

Google "Gymkhana" too! :cool:

Funny thing , his mustang called the hoonicorn was featured in a video game... people who play the game found out you could use the hoonicorn in the drag race part of the game and not lose

Well they decided to test that in real life and the car is even more impressive (you have to fast forward through a bit of talking)

I think the most impressive driving and video work for Ken was his Pike’s Peak ride. Anyone who’s been up that road knows exactly how much it skill it would take to do it at 100mph, not to mention the thousand donuts he does lol. I’m gonna put it on the TV so I can listen on the surround sound…

Always been a fan of his (and all the videos. Quite a rabbithole to jump down if one has the time).

Although he'd been riding with friends that weekend, he was alone when the accident that killed him occurred. One website showed a photo of the actual slope where he was found, and it was steep, but pretty open.

Seems the snowmobile (a Ski Doo Summit X Turbo. 180hp) upended and landed on him. ~450lbs. That's enough to cause crush injuries, but more likely; ***Just speculation*** asphyxiation (meaning if he hadn't been alone, other riders rushing to his aid and getting him out from under it might possibly have saved him 😞)

Huge bummer, all the crazy stuff he does, and the snow mobile gets him. He will be missed by many.
