Good!Well, happy to report that the tech line for my healthcare provider opened at 8 am and I was done by 8.08 this morning.
I set up a new password, logged in and out twice while she was on the line and thanked her profusely for her help.
Mission accomplished. (She thinks it may well have been a systems problem.) Sometimes you get lucky and avoid the five hour hold.
I'm more of the type to fix the offending hole, and trap it. But I've become a softy in my old age. Kids, welcome to my lawn!My wife was complaining about a critter scurrying around and making noise in the corner ceiling/roof of her sun room/office. We talked about it and I wasn't sure if it was going to be a rat or perhaps a squirrel? Today, I returned from running an errand at Costco and I saw the offending pest climbing into the end gutter opening with some nesting material.
I went an retrieved my handy pest control device and waited for an appropriate clear shot...

Who's laughing? Squirrel is one of my favorite meats! Growing up in the suburbs we had a big yard with big maples and poplars. And lots of grey squirrels, which I'd regularly hunt with my pellet gun and grill up. Not sure what the neighbors thought... Mmmmmm grilled squirrel with lemon and garlic!PolRoger , now you have food for the “What‘s that you’re eating“ thread!
I’ll have what he’s having, but make mine a double double…….My wife was complaining about a critter scurrying around and making noise in the corner ceiling/roof of her sun room/office. another great documentary
Very nice! My current air rifle has been forlorn in the closet for too long. RWS/Diana 52 in .22. Oops, this thing really needs (and deserves) some love. Thanks for posting that and prompting me to pull it out and give it some attention/maintenance. The side lever is weird but this thing is awesome! My squirrel hunting rifle was a random breakbarrel I picked up in Argentina circa 1980. I remember sticking anything/everything I could in that barrel in my younger daysI’ll have what he’s having, but make mine a double double…….

Dis guy eats squirrels, fur and all.
I'm sure they're perfectly adequate in certain applications (haven't heard great things about long term reliability though), and maybe they'll get there eventually, but in the meantime don't try to market it as "sporty" or "performance". In the case of Subaru, what I loved about the Legacy GT I had was that it was basically a 4-door WRX. Was never into the rally car vibe of the WRX, but couldn't argue with the performance. Now the Legacy is just another neutered family sedan.
I had a 05 Legacy GT 5 speed. That was a fun and reliable little car. I thought I was doing a good deed and sold it to my wife’s younger brother for a heck of a price, he blew up the engine 2 months later.![]()
Not quite the same, but... 1987 GL wagon. Bought new, cash. Something like $8000. If my dumb patootie hadn't totaled that thing, I'd prolly still be driving it. (In my defense, it's not my fault the young person parked their car in the middle lane of 66 heading out of DC at 2am on a blind curve (due to speed and barriers to the metro tracks) because they ran out of gas...the six people behind me rammed into me/each other...)Yeah, I have the 2017 WRX LTD 6-speed. It's a very different animal vs my old Forester XT turbo with CVT that my son Drives.
You do have to get the turbo models like Onyx XT in a Legacy to enjoy the power, but the current sport models only upgrade the suspension (my daughter has the 2.0L Impreza Sport, and it's a go-cart with little power at 5000 feet elevation). Legacy GT is a great car, and in the early days it was faster around a race track than a Mustang.
I had a 2000 Impreza 2.5RS that I installed aftermarket turbo kit, and moved to a WRX STi in 2004. Then a 2006 Tribeca > 2008 Infini G35x AWD 300+ hp, then a 2015 Forester XT turbo that my son now drives. I keep coming back to Subaru, as long as it's boosted or 6-cylinders.
WHY DID I SAY BACK ON TOPIC IF THIS IS RANDOM THOUGHT THREAD? I'LL Post this elsewhere >>> Back on topic, todays carry is my new Shirogorov Neon NL, beatemup Benchmade Shootout, and Xmas Victorinox SAK.

I have an arrangement with squirrels at my house and at my cabin. I give them almonds at designated areas, and they don’t disturb the house or cabin. To hear them chirping in delight when the ones at the cabin property get a new stash is just hilarious. When they hear me ride up past the cache I made for them, they will let me know they are waiting. If only I could convince porcupines to stay away ….. very destructive critters.
I’ve eaten plenty of squirrels and love small game hunting, I’d eat it! After seeing these pics I’m wanting a good air rifle…
Porkey’s are terrible! Chew on gas/diesel/water jugs, anything rubber, plywood. A land neighbor had his dozer hydraulic lines chewed through and I know a guy who had brake lines of his motor home chewed (good he noticed prior to driving). My wife calls my 10/22 Target rifle the ‘pine gun’, but .40 cal and .44 mag work well too!I grew up hunting squirrels for dinner at my Gramps, was just a way of life, loved hunting them and eating them too. But I got a soft spot for the ones around the house here. Agreed about the Porkeys, my gosh are they ever destructive up at my hunting property up North.
Your guys posts brought back some good memories, thanks![]()
