I'm thrilled to death that you are digging it. When I first got my DEK1, I didn't love it but I was resolved to give it a solid go and I very quickly warmed to it. It's superbly designed and makes for just about the perfect mid-sized EDC fixed blade one could ask for.

The Grand Pooh-Bah of this sub who had originally coined that term, has actually rescinded it so we tend not to use it any more.

As Nathan has correctly stated, yesterday was pretty sad because most have figured out who the person was and despite some comedy gold at his expense (Blues new signature line, Phil’s brilliant funny post yesterday, etc) I actually started feeling pretty sh*tty about it all because I displayed lack of compassion. Now, I’m not religious, far from being a Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu and not even a Canadian! But I am human and should’ve perhaps tried to walk in his shoes!

I maybe under some sh*t Covid spell currently and hallucinating but if some of us want to band together to chip in for him to keep his Shiv, I’m game. This is not a charitable offer, I don’t do that but someone was silly enough to gift me a CPK cap so I f I can give back to the community to keep the peace, I’d do it this way to keep things cool for both parties.
 
Matt, that would be fine if he had a reason to be aggrieved. I'm all for shoring up my fellow addicts with support up to and including knives or financial assistance.

But, the fact is that the matter could have been settled amicably with just a little bit of tolerant conversation and humility. Instead, it turned to finger pointing and allegations.

And the funniest part is that the knife in question could have been sold for more than he had in it, and let's face it, somebody would have paid up to take his place for the Shiv.

If the man is suffering, I am with you all the way in trying to ease his pain...mental, psychic, emotional, physical. But he threw down a gauntlet which should have remained affixed to his hand and wrist.

Just consider this Blues that he had always stated that he would never sell his knives and as quirky as he always came across, there are certain things people say that I take for their face value. Again, I have some kinda sh*t virus in me and I’ve gone even softer in the head but if this helps at all, a few of us can band together. Laughter is good, kindness is better ;)

I am aware. The term seemed fitting in this instance. The term‘s been used on occasion since Nathan told us to clean it up in here, at least once I recall by Nathan himself (I wasn’t around when y’all were playing so loose in here), and I think if we all can keep it together, we’re good.

Yeah, the knife in question was easily identified. Even by myself, and I have not been around nearly as much (I still read regularly, just haven’t had as much time to post). We all screw up occasionally, it is what it is now. 🤷‍♂️

Far be it from me to tell you that you shouldn't have charity in your heart for another. Do what you feel is right. I support your goodwill.

He certainly talked a good game and played the tough guy card, (more than I thought necessary), but we all have our weaknesses on one level or another. He should have been man enough to discuss it with Nate and Jo, and maybe some of us before casting aspersions.

Anyway, enough from me on the subject.
