1968 Naval Air Station, Brunswick Me. A moose got inside the wire and jumped in front of 4 Marines in a crew cab pickup while patrolling the perimeter road. All 4 went to sickbay with a variety of bumps & bruises. The truck was toast.
Motor was driven back 4”. They parked it outside equip. maint. because of the flood of gawkers (me included)
The moose was butchered and shared by the EM, Chief’s & Officer’s Clubs. Pretty sure the tenderloin went to the ”Os”..

Now, what would cause him to drive off the road like that unless there was a topless gal waving her pom-poms up there on the berm?

Inattentive driving.

Car or vehicle in front of him hit the brakes to slow down and gawk or slow for another driver in front of them. The semi was driving too fast for conditions and probably had the cruise control set too.

Semi swerved right at the last second to avoid rear ending the car or vehicle in front of him cause he could not stop in time to avoid. Following too close while driving too fast for conditions and not paying attention. Seen it happen a thousand + times over the years.

^^^I gotta go w/ double D on this one. A hard and thin (cold) pillow makes the world seem right. Although, I do agree with trevitrace trevitrace that DD is “a weird dude” !!! 🤣

Hard and thin pillows aside, who’s got a hard and thin FK2 (or any other model) and what do you think ?

I really like the FK2. It slices as well as knives that are thinner. It has just enough of a rounded belly to lend itself to skinning, but enough of a point for detailed work. Fantastic handle for hard use, you won't fatigue quickly. I don't think there's much it won't do well. I guess it wouldn't be great at chopping (enter SDFK).

If you're looking for a good workhorse with less than 6 inches of blade, it's a great choice. I prefer it to the DEK1, but it won't conceal as well. It's excellent as a hunting/outdoors/work knife. I definitely won't be parting with mine while I'm still breathing.

I totally agree brother. The FK2 was my 1st CPK, compliments of the generous and prominent woodysone woodysone . I would only ever gift it to one of my 5 kids.

I’m quite curious about the “hard and thin” version of the FK2, though. Even further, there’s other versions w/ a penetrator tip or a swedge. Very, very intriguing!
