On a side note, here is how my "engagement" went, in Jan 2002 - I just got my divorce papers, after being seperated for 4 years (Swiss divorce requirement):

Me: "I want to buy a house; but I want to get married first"
She: "Let's do it !"

Feb 23 we were married, moved into the new house in April.
