Oh, more naivete on my part.If we're talking about Thailand, I'm not making ANY assumptions
I think the first time I ever visited Thailand, was in the 70s (maybe early 80s). Vacation with the family on one of those packaged tours.
One of the nights was a 'Dinner and a show' deal. The dinner was good. During the show, my brother and I are going, "Uhhh... pretty sure that one's a dude. And that one too".
My mom laughs and says, "They're all 'dudes''"
"Whaaaa...? No way THAT ones a dude. Or THAT one".
"They're all males. That's what this place is known for".
Same trip, the tour bus is heading to the hotel in Bangkok, and I'm looking out the window of this new and interesting city, and remark, "Huh, Thai people must REALLY love their pets".
My mom goes, "What makes you say that?".
"We've passed at least 12 VD clinics. That one street alone had 5. That's Veterinarian Doctor, right?"
