Blues Blues So animal control just issued a warning for the TWO unprovoked attacks? It's just a matter of time before a dog like that mauls/kills someone.

For example, a couple pitts killed two kids and seriously injured their mother just last October: https://people.com/crime/2-children-killed-pit-bull-attack-tennessee-mother-hospitalized/
We had a mom killed in front of her two girls last year In our home town. it was really sad and the dog had a history of attacking people. The owner was hiding the dog from authorities when it killed the mom.

Saw a video of an elderly man, who was ripped to shreds by 2 pitbulls recently. Not going to post the link.

That no one in the neighborhood even attempted to come to his aid, is appalling.

Woman filmed it from her car, while honking the horn. Unarmed, I can understand her not risking intervening, but NO ONE ELSE? (until Firefighters arrived). ☹️

Not a happy camper. Neighbor's pit ran out and attacked my dog again tonight around 6pm. I beat that dog with an Irish Blackthorn and kicked it and didn't break it loose. Finally got it broken up after a the owner and the neighbors she was sitting with came over to help.

I told her, (the owner), that the next time would be the last time as I would put the dog down. (The stick and the kicks did shit.) The next time will be a more permanent solution if pepper spray doesn't do the trick. (Gotta cover my ass.)

Made a report to Animal Control through the Sheriff's Office.

Skyler's okay. Lacerations in one ear, a cut under her jaw and a little blood on chest and paw. I bet that Pit is feeling it tonight, but not as bad as it will be if it ever happens again.

I’m so sorry Skyler, you and your family are going through this, and even on your own property too, disgusting behavior.

That being said, have you considered a Electric Stun Baton? It is LTL and can cause instant incapacitation. I would strongly suggest talking to some of your current and former LEO K-9 officers and even the K-9 training facility too for their input.

Yes, the pistol can & will work, but the multitude of possibilities regarding collateral damage in that ever changing instant may cause an unnecessary extended time delay period while waiting for the clear shot to happen.

I know you are well experienced, but in that moment, time is of the essence, and electricity is just another instant and very effective tool you can use.

I’m praying for you guys to have safety and peace🙏

A big hug to Skyler from me.

The event wasn't on my property. I was walking my dog up the gravel road...the same road I have walked my dogs every day since 2005...past the few homes in our wooded, rural subdivision. It's a private road which is paid for and maintained by the community.

The dog that came after mine left another property where it was unleashed and apparently unsecured while its owner was visiting (outdoors) with another neighboring couple. (The first event it came off the property where it resides, which is across the road from where it came out of last night.)

County law requires all dogs be leashed when off their own property. It had no leash attached, nor did I even notice a collar on it last night. (I may be wrong about the collar since I was otherwise occupied.)

I appreciate your concern, my friend, but I'm not planning on adding any more devices after 18 years walking up the road.

ETA: The Animal Control agent carries the same as my usual...pepper spray and a firearm.

Elliot, I am so sorry to read of your situation. Having been there myself, I do not envy it, at all. It sounds like you have been more than diplomatic.

The only time I had a similar issue, the ONE and only reason it didn’t end with a dead dog was because the owner was not far behind the dog and managed to divert it by voice before it got to me. BARELY. Pitbull jumped TWO 5’ chain link fences, from a block over, coming after my family and dog while we were outside eating dinner on the porch, in the BACK YARD, at my in-laws. 😲 I saw it coming before it jumped the first fence, though nobody else at the table realized what was happening until the dog was at our fence. Dog got to within 5 yards of me, and I was ready with gun AND knife in-hand, without even realizing I had drawn either until well after the owner (female) was in the yard too, terrified. She called her husband/boyfriend and he arrived a few minutes later.

It happened so fast that the family had barely gotten up from the table by the time the dog was in the backyard with us, while I was yelling at them to get inside (my 3 kids were all under 10 at the time). Police were called immediately as the owner was being belligerent, angry that I was completely ready to kill her dog. Police arrived inside of 5 minutes (reports of a gun will do that  ), the trespassing dog owners were informed that I was WELL within my rights, and that they needed to control their dog or it would be taken from them. They received a couple tickets for the incident, one because they had not registered the dog with the county, as is required here.

I still start to flush with anger even thinking about the incident to this day, even though it was over a decade ago. 🤬 :poop: After it was all over, my wife commented that she couldn’t believe how fast I had jumped up, drew my knife (Benchmade 710) and pistol, and moved to intercept the dog before it reached my family. I don’t even remember doing it…

ETA - we found out later that thankfully, these people didn’t live nearby, but were visiting someone over on the next street. Also, that the dog had a previous history of similar incidents in another county of the Denver metro area. 🤨 Why they still were allowed to own it is beyond me. 👎

Some good news, saved $300 on the truck. Ended up just being a dirty map sensor. 😁

Also found out with my tuner how to change the top speed cutout, instead of 112 mph I changed it to a 190 mph 😂😂. The analog speedometer pegs at 120 but the digital speedometer goes to at least 130 mph I was able to verify today. Yes, stupid as hell I know. 😜
