Random Thought Thread

My daily driver is a 2010 Toyota Yaris sedan, and I’ve had it since new, now at 194310 miles,so I guess it’s time for stuff to start wearing out. I had a deal show up about 3 weeks ago where it would vibrate on the highway, but only when on the gas. Coasting was smooth. So I figured it was an inner CV joint and ordered both. Only one showed up, but that’s a separate story. Got the driver side one out and found the ripped boot. These things are packed in grease, right?? No wonder it was going bad!

Yeah, that looks like that might be a problem.

That one was the source of the vibration, so it is fixed. FedEx lost the other one in Memphis so had to wait till yesterday for them to officially declare it “unrecoverable “ before the vendor would re ship the lost one. Figure I might as well do both sides. I’m not that easy on the car at times….

The streamlight wedge is the most carried and used flashlight I've ever owned

Accidently been through the washer and dryer 5 or 6 times and just keeps going!

I use it for checking paint coverage and metallics at work ... and use it for flashlight stuff any other time

Not prefect , but excellently practical!
I really wanted one of these, but I hate internal batteries that can't be removed easily. I carry spares, etc. for my edc light

what material were you cutting and was it a face mill? decking something?
6061. I'm making a fixture for the K20 swords. That was a 1-inch three flute, 3/4-in depth of cut, half inch step over, 5000 RPM, 120 inch per minute on a 7 ton Mori Seiki.

45 in³ / minute material removal rate.

The crazy thing to me is the machine and cutter are actually probably capable of more than that. But I lack the cojones and the electricity.
