I don't think anyone wants to get hit with any kind of shotgun blast, but I've shot ducks with #3 shot at less than 20 yards and they dropped in the water, only to start swimming away. Sea ducks are even more notoriously tough. My friend hit a Bufflehead that looked like it dropped dead when it hit the water. I walked over to grab it and I ended up chasing it for about 50 yards. The duck had a hole through it's breast, but somehow still was alive.
I'm sure others can tell similar stories of shooting geese with BB or other shot. Not something I would want to bet on for home defense.
I know you mean 20 gauge, but it's cool that if you did really mean 0.20 gauge, it would have a nearly 3" bore and fit a 5lb ball of lead.I've found that .20 ga. shells with #2 shot are effective on ducks. Or maybe I'm just a better shot than my friends who were using .12 ga. autoloaders.![]()

One of my first guns was a single shot 10 gauge that nobody would shoot twice. Paid $50 for it. I guess the previous owner didn't want it either.Indeed, thank you for correcting me!
Funny thing about shoulder cannons, the last time I went duck hunting I used a borrowed 10 gauge auto. The danged thing must weigh 20 pounds but it still thumped like a sledge. Still, i think the ducks got it worse. Each hit was a decisive "thump" followed by a splash. Fun times.
I wonder how the CPK Folder will compare. And this was waiting for me when I arrived home!!!!!
Thank youRichard338 for helping look and thank you
Blues for finding this!!

Oof, yeah a single shot would be quite stimulating. One of my first guns was a single shot 10 gauge that nobody would shoot twice. Paid $50 for it. I guess the previous owner didn't want it either.
My friend has a nice model 29. He used to load it with 2 rounds of .44 special, 2 mild .44 mag, and 2 hot .44 mag. That way you could ease into it when you try it out.Oof, yeah a single shot would be quite stimulating.
Reminds me of a distant, now deceased, relative who used to own a gun shop. He got an S&W Model 29 after Dirty Harry came out and posted it for sale with a free box of ammo. Apparently it was sold and returned 3 times in a row with the same box of shells, only missing a few rounds, before he took it off the display and kept it for himself.
I did the same thing a few months ago. I had a new system installed last year and had no idea I needed to clean the filter out once in a while.Ahhh...
...nothing says spring is here like pulling and hosing off the septic filter after another year of use.
