people care because they remember it as being a part of their reality.

It doesnt really matter to me. it is interesting though that some people swear that it's a thing and others dont remember it.

it's like c3p0's silver leg.

it wasn't always silver. I remember watching the movies many times and him being all gold colored. both legs included.

I know no such people. Can't help. (On any of the above. Or understand why any of it matters.)
 
While it doesn't have as much stopping power, good aim goes a long way... I have a CZ P10F 9mm with 19 round magazine from the factory, have 4 of them. One with a plus 5 extension on it. Usually hit up the range around 3 week intervals.
They are focusing on the wrong thing, as usual, its the nut behind the gun, not the gun.

Looks like they included over 50 rifles including any semi-automatic with detachable magazine or any fixed magazine that holds more than 10 rounds. Oh, and no barrel shrouds or flash suppressors.
So a Ruger 10/22 falls under that with the scary detachable magazine, as does just about any tube fed .22 rimfire rifle (being a fixed magazine).

Craziness! Just enforce laws already on the books.
