Have you had a chance to cook anything yet?

I have money sitting waiting for a new smoker I want, and CPK money stowed away
Yes. Some St. Louis style ribs. Smoked (yes, smoked) on the Weber gas grill with pecan wood. Tender, smokey, and delish. I'll post pics later on the "what's that you're eatin'" thread.

Hahahaha I always remembered this part from the first time I watched this movie when I was younger

OMG, when he was in his prime, there was no one funnier.

Supposedly Murphy ad-libbed that scene on the spot. His talent was enormous. He practically saved Saturday Night Live single-handedly when he was just 19 years old.

Put ribs on the side of the grill which is turned off. Move around the flavor bars on the other side to create a "pouch" into which a spare Weber aluminum drip tray will fit nicely, under the grate. Fill the drip tray with pecan chips and put the grate on top (not really necessary). Turn that side on as low as it will go. The temp at the grate on the "off side" was 250-255 degrees. I got so much smoke that when I opened the lid to spritz the ribs, it nearly choked me. After about 4 1/2 hours . . . voila! Nice smoke ring and smokey flavor.

My CPK money is going for a new windshield on the wifes car.. $1190 bucks for the windshield on her Crosstrek!!

Because it can cost $1200-1400 for a windshield due to the eyesight calibration and heating elements in the Subaru windshield we bought the $1800 glass warranty in 2020. We used it in the first 3 months of owning the car due to the rocks in the sand used to treat the icy roads that first winter. We used it again last winter. Now who’s laughing. Not the insurance company.

Oh my lord! I have a Limited 2021 Subi Crosstrek w/ eyesight. Within the first month it got a star crack towards the bottom of the windshield somehow. I dreaded going in due to the whole recalibration and windshield replacement. I assumed my insurance company would take care of it since I have free glass replacement through Progressive (think law is like 3-5 free windshield replacements a year since it’s so prone to happening in AZ) . Hasn’t got any worse yet thank goodness but I better ask now. If it does, there goes my CPK and TV fund 😮
