Small T&F correction. There was no silver medal awarded in the high jump at the last Olympics. They had the unusual case of two people accepting a tie for gold, and then came bronze.Sadly, I agree that racism is part of it. I mean, basketball is a game where Hollywood actually made a movie (and a recent remake) titled "White Men Can't Jump." Think about that. The silver and bronze medals in the high jump at the last Olympics were won by White Men.
However that only goes so far After all, Jokic DID win MVP the past two years.
I was mostly talking about the general public, but when it comes to the Talking Heads that you mentioned there is something else at work that I think was the main reason Jokic didn't win MVP again this year. "Protection-Of-The History-Of-The-Game-Ism."
Remember how for decades baseball writers would never elect any player (no matter how worthy) to the Hall of Fame unanimously on the first ballot because - for some strange reason - Babe Ruth wasn't (until they finally did it for The Sandman - and he played on the coast too, and in NYC, and for the Yankees).
Well, Larry Bird, Wilt Chamberlin and Bill Russell are the only players to ever win the NBA MVP three years in a row. Michael Jordan didn't. Kobe didn't. Magic didn't. Kareem didn't. LeFraud didn't.
So how you gonna let this big, slow, European dude playing in Denver do it?
Wilt and Russell did it many decades ago when the league was much smaller and there were only a very few really great players to compete against for the award. They almost don't count. I believe that these Talking Heads don't think Bird should have done it, either. And as great as Bird was . . . IMO be probably benefitted from the racial thinking among the basketball media of his time in the same way that Jokic is penalized by the racial thinking among the basketball media of his time.
The best thing about Jokic is that I truly do not think he cares. Like all the greats he is about winning. But unlike all the other greats, he never expected to be where he is - at least until recently. He was an afterthought second round pick in a draft that only has two rounds. A true unicorn. A super team player. And for me, a pleasure to watch and root for.
Well,Eric obviously wasn't there yet.
Where can I find a pair of those?
I’m in the same boat man. Glad I got a few real nice ones.I'm glad I've got a few that I'm very happy with because this shit is getting too rich for my blood.
So let it be written, so let it be done. I will remove (offline) any further such discussion as we would do with politics.
Thanks gents, I was hoping it could be handled in an amicable fashion and you've provided a means to do so.
Man I can't believe it, we've almost sold out already.

The early birds came in about an hour ago. The main show will open in an hour but I don't think we're going to have as much inventory as I had hoped.
So ... you're saying it might not be up for a couple weeks? ... who woulda thunk it. I'm happy to see all the success that y'all are having! And good luck to the team in the competition!View attachment 2205365
