My best friends soon to be ex broke 5 bottles of unopened pappy last night including a 23yr 🥹🥹🥹

She & the neighbor got a bit too friendly. He withheld her phone, she responded inappropriately. Could of been worse though.

Rip liquid gold🥲🥲🥲🥲😭😭😭

That's brutal. I have a little left of a 23 year old bottle that was gifted to me nearly 13 years ago for being the best man in one of my best friend's wedding. So this is 36 year old Pappy!

Sometimes it takes a while for even certain CPK models to grow on you. Patience is advised until you are sure how you really feel about it.

Sounds like two good reasons for her to be an ex, and that he's getting off cheap.
A large liquor store locally does a lottery each year for the one bottle of 23 year old Pappy that they get. The winner has had the option to sell the bottle for $4,000 to $4,500 in the parking lot afterwards for the past few years. It's quite steep considering I personally prefer a high rye bourbon. The closest, readily available wheated bourbon would be Basil Hayden's. While Maker's Mark and Weller are wheated bourbon's they're not nearly as smooth. The new Van Winkle is distilled by Buffalo Trace where as the old bottle that I have was done by Heaven Hill and superior IMO. YMMV...

ETA I don't know if the new releases of 23 year has reached Buffalo Trace production yet. I'm too poors to care. ;)

Folks, a friendly reminder to avoid any repercussions.

This thread is not part of the Exchange. Only Gold members and above can sell on this site or discuss selling. Trading requires a "paid" membership, not a free "registered" membership.

Commerce belongs in the Exchange. Links to those events can be listed in the "Catchall" thread.

I'm a lot happier being a participating member here than a cop, so please help me keep it that way. I can overlook a lot, but at a certain point I can't.

Thanks. (No further discussion required on my part. I hope you can understand the position I'm in.)

Sorry everyone. Not a great way to start the day. Work is tough these days and I’m reaching too far out. I’ll pipe down.
You have nothing to apologize for and did nothing wrong. It's an administrative matter and all of the posts that dealt with the potential sale or trade were moved offline as it wasn't kosher according to the rules.

Nobody owes me an apology...I simply ask that commerce not be conducted in the discussion forum to avoid the potential conflict.

Gold members, (and above), however, can discuss valuations and such...but not solicit buying, selling, and trading outside the Exchange.

Anyway, there's no hard feelings and no one should think that there are any.

Hope that helps clarify things.

The new whole home generator is a trip.

Every Monday morning it exercises for five minutes.

Sends me an email to let me know it's running, and then another email when it's finished exercising, letting me know it's "ready to run" if needed in an outage.

Sucker is loud, but not to the point that you don't get used to it. Nice to have...now that it's installed and paid for. (We do get more than our share of outages in this area, due to the heavily forested / mountainous environment.)
