Random Thought Thread

Thank you for asking!

We're up high in the Greens above both the Winooski and Lamoille rivers which are at catastrophic levels. A 17 min trip to work this AM -just- missing the floods, just took 90 mins back as I had to go over the Greens, south of Mt. Mansfield, then north and back -over- the Greens via small, high back roads. But made it home. We're good.

The valleys are destroyed, worse than storm Irene. Thousands of acres of farms are gone. The state ctr, Montpelier, is under 6ft of water.

Only one death that I know of. We're keeping it hyper local and supporting our farmer neighbors down the road. Homes not washed out, but buying them milk and offering help to clean this weekend. More rain coming though.

Thanks again for you kind thoughts.

This is my exit from Burlington to Richmond on rt 89 S. The Winooski river is at the base of the far hill. The water you see is all farmland. And a local service station. 14 foot overflow reported here;

Everyone knows the CPK subforum and this thread in particular is just the wild, wild west.

And for anyone who has a problem with that...

"Please assume that the handle material of your choice isn't available and all we have are handles that I molded out of Merita brand white bread that I found abandoned at a park table that had ketchup on it that I wiped off and then squished onto the tang as scales. They have that weird old dry ketchup smell. And the kid that made this ketchup sandwich was weird looking. I saw him. If we end up having a handle material that you like better, great. But assume we don't."
