If anyone is considering a career at the PO now is the time. Wish there were more days like this when I started over 3 years ago. 4 hours of work right here in order to get an 8hr day and I already helped 30 mins on another route 😂😂😂 I expect routes to get bigger if this continues.
Not many jobs where ya get 7+ hrs of freedom from bosses a day 🤘🏼

Madcap magician: I have heard some creepy stories regarding the fanciest club here.
I used to be a hardcore gym rat and went to ones that had puke buckets that frequently got used. You know you are around serious guys when the average thigh was bigger than the average waist! Lol. Some truly monstrous bodybuilders moving weights I could only dream of. I can’t imagine being in a gym where some want to work out and others are just posing for instagram photos and other weirdos are just looking at meat. My main workouts in summer are cutting
trees/firewood and trail work and winters is snow removal. Nobody else around. Martial arts mats are always fun though.
hahaha not as many Instagram folks at the work gym, but there are a few at Planet Fitness. Male and female types. Sometimes I'll walk into the locker room, and somebody will be flexing in front of the mirror and then suddenly try to act all nonchalant when they realize they're not alone anymore, or women in expensive leggings and sports bras with full makeup taking selfies with machines, or muscle heads doing lifts and taking up an extra bench where they have their phone set up taking a recording of their lift.

I record my lifts. I do this to look for any flaws in my form, but I don’t use the bench for any piece of equipment to record my lifts.

The last time I worked out anywhere but in my own home gym was when my old agency had gyms available for us at the SAC office or at the AFB when I worked at the air wing...and we could use them during the course of our day according to our own schedule.

Having a home gym is one of the best investments I have ever made...and I've had one of some sort or other since the early 80's. I could never go to a public facility now. I'm too used to being able to work out when I want to, not waiting for some piece of equipment to be available, and not needing to wipe off someone's sweat from the bench or stand around b.s.-ing.
I'm in the same boat. If you can swing it, having your own gym is the way to go. Way easier to stay consistent. It also makes it hard for me to come up with an excuse to stay home during a snow storm in the winter.

Pretty sure my favorite part is running around naked doing "the helicopter" though (imagine a pitbull shaking a gummy worm). Last gym membership got all uppity about that. Psssshhh prudes

Frankly, I'd rather have a gym partner. That said, it's harder to find a buddy who can match your schedule and commitment. I had one for awhile and it was really helpful but our jobs and lives drifted in different directions so that ended that.

In other news, I just ordered a Colt Python. It's been awhile since I've bought a new gun - largely because I don't want for much in that category but also it's getting more and more onerous to do so. Been wanting a Python for awhile now and found a deal I couldn't pass up.

Now we wait.

That's an itch I've been tempted to scratch from time to time. Almost as much as replacing the Gov't Model (Series 70) I carried at work for a couple of years until we were no longer permitted to carry single action. (But for the most part, I've been able to sidestep the allure.)

My agencies always issued S&W revolvers, so I was never heavily invested in the Colt mystique. (But, not entirely immune.)

It's an expensive itch to scratch - whether you're seeking out older versions or going with the newer releases. Regrettably, Colt doesn't offer any of their new stuff in a blued finish but otherwise, they are pretty available.

Though I have not handled all of the different frames that S&W has offered over the years, the only two that have suited me really well are the L and N frames. K frames have been ok but there is something about the grip size and its angle that throws me off. I'm hoping to hunt down a Model 27 and 29 in the near future as well. I had the pleasure of making a custom shoulder rig for my buddy's 29 some years ago and that gun was simply a pleasure to experience and shoot.

@ Pàdruig Pàdruig

We were issued 2" Model 15, 2" Model 36 and 2.5" Model 19. I shot all of them well, with the Model 19 being the best of the bunch.

When it came to buying revolvers, I've only bought Model 36, 642 and 3" 686+. I sold the 686+ to a neighbor who wanted / needed a reliable firearm for their home. It was a very nice gun, especially after I replaced the front sight with some Dawson's.

The old Gov't Model, (which the agency wouldn't let me buy, fed agencies don't allow), was with me on one of my most significant ops, where I got to arrest the crew responsible for the death of a colleague in a helicopter crash while pursuing them in the FL straits. For that reason alone I will always have warm feelings for the gun.

I owned both a 29 and 27. Still hate myself for selling them.

I'll be curious to hear your thoughts when it arrives and you've had a chance to put it through its paces. I've been 'this' close to grabbing one more times than I can count at this point. I've been very happy with my King Cobra.

Beautiful stuff! I went with the 4 1/4" since I want to carry it more places but I was seriously considering a 6".
The only reason I went with the 6 inch is because my LGS had one for a price I couldn’t say no to. I personally think the four inch is a better all rounder. But then again, I feel like I can really maximize the 357 magnum potential in a 6 inch barrel as opposed to a 4 inch barrel.
