Maybe. But it’s not the nurses in recovery’s friend.
After many procedures as a kid, I now wake up in a very belligerent state.
I am sorry you have had problems and I have been at the bedside when many a patient woke up ‘out of sorts’. I should clarify that the person performing anesthesia is your friend! Some people react differently to medications and it is really important that prior reactions or complications be relayed. Conscious sedation can be used for so many procedures to make it easier for both the patient and provider. Propofol is a wonderful drug to use for procedures and patients typically wake up from it very well. I hope you don’t need any procedures in the near future!

Well, guess my deadlifting is done for a while. Felt a little pop in the back of the left leg about halfway from butt to knee while in the middle of one of the reps.

So, looks like I'll be shelving that movement for a while.

I can do body weight squats ass to the grass with very little discomfort, but any kind of forward lean while bending causes the hamstring to tighten and brings the tweak back to greater or lesser degree. Fortunately, not debilitating for everyday stuff.

I hate shit that messes with my schedule.

Just my hearing/ears. Mostly when I was a kid. The belligerent behavior post procedure didn’t show up until my 20’s.

Having patients under anesthesia, then heavily sedated for lengthy times in ICU, I have seen some nutty stuff! One patient woke up having a flashback of being a prisoner on Corrigidor and there was no calming her for quite a while. You never know what someone is thinking while under or while waking, and unfortunately the areas are generally full of strange noises. I always tried to talk with my patients well before any signs of being awake, just to orient them and reassure them.

Anesthesiologists and CRNA’s try their best to have people be safe, comfortable, pain free, and wake up smoothly. They don’t get enough credit with roles in procedures and surgeries IMHO.

Stay safe!

I think an enterprising health professional should open a "Painless Dent Repair" clinic. Now there's a sure money maker.

(Can "Painless Dental Repair" be far behind?)
That's already been a thing, for some time.

They anesthetize for just about everything. 🙄

What's even crazier, is folks who've told me that they have the dentist put them under for almost any type of procedure. Considering that there's always a risk from general anesthesia, being put under for dental procedures is...

I remember in the old ether days, I had the same crazy dream when I had my tonsils out at 3, and later at 11 when I had a polyp removed from my larynx. Only difference I recall is that I threw up after waking up when I was 11.

I can still remember like red and green colors coming at me like a fist in alternate fashion. (My first trip...I guess.)

Ayyyyy... another tonsilless brother 😅

Had mine out when I was 7. Don't remember coming out of the anesthesia, but I DO recall my throat hurting so much, that I refused the ice cream they gave me afterwards.
