Babysitter bringing some young ones by for the acorn harvest.
IMG_2342.jpeg

A few years back I pulled in the driveway at dusk and there were 12-15 deer all laying down under this big oak, bloated from acorns and just watching me. I parked within 10’ of them and not a one could be bothered to even stand up.

This is the oak. Estimated to be 300+ years old by people I know that do that. The light pole to the left is 12’ tall.

^ I hope that my esteemed fellow CPK'er doesn't mind this reply as it is something that Nathan had posted in the past (8/31/2022) so it is a matter of public record already, but to answer your Q, no, no one owns every single model ever produced but there is one person who is about as close as anyone would ever come to that goal. Just click on the link below if you'd like. It's a real link, not a spam link but I will not repost the photo.

Nathan's post and the photo which Nathan had shared

That pic was posted right before the whiskey raider made some underhanded comments regarding a "lead" chain and all.

Seeing the impressive collection was a treat but getting a laugh at the tail end was even better.

The synchronicity of things never ceases to amaze me...

My neighbor just called, who is the owner of the dog who was Skyler's best playmate, to tell me that his dog passed early this morning. "Jake" was the only dog that Skyler ever spent time romping and wrestling with on any kind of regular basis. Our poor neighbor is devastated.

I had just brought him large bags of food and biscuits the other day...and now this.

Reminds me of the Eastwood movie "Unforgiven": "Deserve's got nothing to do with it."

You can't let those bags of biscuits go bad. This is the universe speaking to you. A new dog needs to find you.

Lucky for me, he has all the biscuits and much of the kibble.

I only have one 35 lb bag of kibble remaining.

Right now I think I'm gonna limit myself to playing with other people's dogs.

If we were closer.... I'd hand you a few beers my friend..... and we could watch my dog chase birds, helicopters and airplanes
You're a good man, Andrew and I appreciate it. It's one of those weeks that just reminds you...of what you need reminding of from time to time.

We did get to spend some time yesterday and today with some neighbor dogs...a couple of Weimaraners, like my old boy Smoky...and a very handsome young GSD mix. I was trying to mentor its owner a bit as he is currently going through the state academy to prepare for a career in LE or firefighting. (I didn't forget to tell him that most folks like firemen.)

Sorry to hear about Skyler and the meighbor's dog, top.

Definitely hard to deal with. There's something about that bond with absolute, unconditional love.

Well my hunt wasn’t successful in the traditional sense today. I saw one barely legal buck bedded down and decided to pass. Not because I’m into trophies but I figured he could use a year or two to grow up. It was however very successful in the way I got to walk around and spend time in the woods knowing I had blocked out that time to do just that. Even though I work and live in the woods, it’s awesome to commit to just hiking around and not worrying about what else you could or should be doing. I highly recommend it.

Casino thx for sharing that epic pic from last August. Not sure how I missed it. Absolutely incredible.

Me and 2 others declared that model the winner from a Buncha different models and a couple different brands. Didnt test k18 or comp chopper though, no doubt they would of won had we.View attachment 2332480.

Bro, what in the Earth?! These are all yours? How do you even do that? I have a couple kidneys, an eye ball, a foot and some skittles if you want to trade for a behemoth chopper/behemother lol! You would probably give John Wick a run for his money with all those.

Killing should never be the highlight of a hunt imho. Being in nature, and away from stressors is always good for the soul. Filling a freezer is just icing for the cake. Glad you had a good time.
