Sent you a thoughtIt is bolted to the frame in most places but at the tail end it is welded. Removing it is going to involve an oxy acetylene torch.

Wouldn't know it by the lead-chain-cuttin, light-stamp-havin blades you turn outThe truck is 7 or 8 years old and relatively low miles (68k). I don't know how long I will own it, (that depends on how well it serves me). I don't ever like to half-ass something but I also don't like to go way out into left field either? It is rusty and it can't stay like this but I'm not sure how much effort is necessary to get a good long-term workable fix.
Por-15 with the added uv coating would be a nice durable finish
The prep on removing the rust can be time consuming..... mobile media blasting might be the quicker solution
Harbor Freight has cheap HVLP and LVLP spray guns for around $20 if you have a large enough compressor to handle that much area and want to spray it and just toss the gun after. It is bolted to the frame in most places but at the tail end it is welded. I have used and like Rust Bullet as a coating. UV stable and you can paint over it![]()
We hand stripped my buddies 70 Judge down to metal. Lots of pizza and beer was used lol. We cleaned the metal with Capt Lee’s metal cleaner (?) Then applied silver rust bullet to the whole shell. The body shop then did the body work and paint. Car still looks good, I’ll have to see if I can dig up pics. That was a coating I have heard of but never tried thank you!
I'll talk to my supply guy when he comes in next to get his thoughts !!!!
