Buffalo is a tough sports town. I’m not a sports fan by any stretch of the imagination, but you can’t help but sense the pent-up angst just waiting to explode into raging joy when the Bills or Sabres win - or dangerous, feral despair when they lose. Christine Baranski, another Buffalo native, put it perfectly:

For us it’s the opposite, the heat and humidity. They built the stadium so the visiting team gets direct sunlight, and we get the shade. 😆

The FK1 is a great tool when under car or bike.

Yesterday, my 99 Fatboy got a "post-pandemic" service.

Fuel-valve was stuck, and the carburator was beyond service ... so I replaced both. The "new" carburator (on the right below) came from ebay, $200 taken off another softtail with 7k miles on it.

For you Harley guys out there, I like a loud horn on my bikes ... for safety purposes :)

That 80 cubic inch softtail has an aluminum "primary chaincase", that runs wet. Every few years, I check the case for integrity, check the starter (after some years of use, the starter destroys the large gear wheel (on the right) behind the clutch - happened three times so far on that 24 year old bike).

A few years back, the bike sat a couple of inches lower; one day, the chaincase touched the ground in a curve. Just a cosmetic issue though. All good with it yesterday.

What a day was 70 miles from the house dealing with some family stuff while waiting for the wife. I saw the MC up for sale I said yes at 2:41 had it a couple hours later, in his home town he delivered it to the restaurant we were at. It really made my day.

Apparently you need to know the special technique of turning one of these things off. Just sat in the exhaust filled garage furiously googling how to turn off a 1970 corvette.
Got lots of learnin’ to do here.
