You are blatantly price gouging and inflating the market. Sellers get to set the price sure. But the major of the members on this site would shit on what you are doing as well, they are just too afraid to get "points" and get banned.

I hope to God no one buys that knife for $2,100. As much as I like the blades, a CAD design and heat treat protocol isn't worth that much.

As far as the comments. Jlauffer commented in your thread and I messaged him to say be careful. And that I thought the price was, yes, ridiculous.

He and I are no longer best friends 😞

You do know how rarity works right? Like every single hobby/collecting/even simple life necessities work on this concept.

Jesus Christ man! I don’t know if I’ve ever seen such a flagrant case of internet-induced beer muscles. You and your good ol’ boy act of “calling it how you see it” has been done. Just stfu and move on. And for the record: I’m thrilled that you’re out of the CPK stuff—I don’t need more competition on the sales.

I'm fully aware of the concept. I'm also aware of capitalism which you will probably learn me up on next. Yet even capitalism has certain legal boundaries to protect the consumer.

As far as knives, I've had several that are rarer than the knife in question. As this is a hobby and community of like minded people that I assume are similar to myself I chose not to take advantage of fellow enthusiasts when I moved those on to new homes.

Completely sober my man. You guys keep moving this along. The mods could have removed my initial post and that could have been that.

This is really a fantastic group of people

Chip has something that will probably not go for sale again in the future so I think he has full right to say his price

I can understand you stating former prices... but honestly does that work in the world... if something is rare and you have it, I have no problem in you stating the price you think it is worth

And if you are willing to sell your rare knives for what you paid that is awesome thank you!

p.s. I'm rarely sober lol

Yeah there was a time I was rarely sober as well. Was more expensive than this hobby!

I appreciate the adult response. And I completely agree with everything you say as far as the knife and sale.

I'll need some more convincing on the fantastic group of people though.

I think the way Kevin has been treated on here is extremely bullying, disturbing and gang-up mentality should be stopped. Everyone should be ashamed to get so angry over some very useful statements and questions…. If one person is thinking it, many others will be doing the same for a knife makered up $1600. The fact that the questions were removed is dishonest and controlling a fake market. I never want to own a CPK knife now based on this kind of behaviour of CPK knife enthusiasts… Sadly disappointing!! This news is going to spread fast the way knives are being sold and the bubble will burst!

As a maker I hope you can control your fans in to being respectful and do what you will with these secondary market sales.

Understood, but also people were letting some one claim their own price on an item they put up for sale

If some one doesn't want to buy it for that price... they don't have to

I guess so. And less than what I paid for it at that. And absolutely not 400% of new retail.

I'm also open to offers and have mentioned in my previous posts on the exchange if you care to look that I wasn't sure of the price. If I was way off base to let me know.

So by all means keep bringing the heat. If you'd like the knife, I'd be more.than happy to sell it to you. Actually, if it is something you've wanted and can't quite afford I'll send it to you gratis.
