You get better mileage with unicorn farts...at least that's what I've been told by the environmentally hip.Love that 100 mile or less tow range on the Lightning.
I support the oil fields, because my truck doesn’t run on unicorn piss or pixie dust.
Everything is through the roof right now, especially anything hybrid or electric.
Who wouldn't love having an inoperable vehicle during a widespread power outage?
The battery powered inverters are great for a very short need, but then what? Not everyone lives in areas where solar is a great option in winter. Not to mention all the cabins/homes that are solely powered by generators (like my cabin). Love my Honda power and might buy more before they stop making them.I can't wait to see the effects of CA's upcoming ban on the sale of gas powered generators.![]()
When there is 4 hours of daylight in winter at my cabin (less farther North), and lots of snow to deal with, solar isn’t a great option for lots of people. Batteries don’t perform as well in very cold climates either.Battery's not included...
Lead acid batteries are not expensive, and the raw materials can be recycled indefinitely, cheaply.
People complain about solar and wind because the storage capacity issue, but if everybody is storing the power they need, it becomes moot.
What could be better than being off the grid?
A couple of my land neighbors have hydro electric setups to run from the river during summer- very cool. A lodge on Raspberry Island is powered by one too.If it absolutely came down to it like end of times I’d set up a little hydro electric plant in the crick. Wind and solar isn’t reliable, and not a good source of energy. Ask the guys who take care of the wind turbine farms. The amount of maintenance and downtime far outweigh any type of green benefit.
The range of them decreases substantially running a heater as well as running in cold weather- not a great option up here for other than in-town driving, or short commutes. The best thing ever was here in California when they passed the rule of all electric vehicles in the next few years (forget the exact timeframe) and same week the governor asked everyone not to charge their electric vehicles cuz of summertime elec grid issues… I see no issue here at all…![]()
NC is kinda a special state in that regard lolJust like masks, the whole renewable energy thing became highly politicized with lots of "alternate facts" and spin and tons of misinformation.
And, unfortunately, the party that I most affiliate with is on the wrong side of things. Again. Not to get into politics here, but what a shit show.
