I tore out a wall in the new house today and found some newspapers inside the framing from 1959, the color in these old ads is pretty wild, no money or dead bodies found yet…

That’s pretty cool. I helped my Gramps tear down an old house he bought just for the land. Found the walls stuffed with old newspapers used as insulation back then. Best part was that they were all from 1932 & 1933, and even better was the sports section of the 1933 Allstar Game with Babe Ruth and others I don’t remember (just around 10 years old at the time).

Awesome finds! Those old baseball articles would be cool to have in a frame, were you able to save them? This isn’t a real old house, it was built in 1951 so I’m not expecting much beyond the newspapers as I get further into the demo but it’s still cool to take a break and look through them.

Jo the Machinist Jo the Machinist thanks for the updates, but I hope you don't feel like you need to take care of us (updates) while you're there taking care of your dad. But we are here for you, along with all your others friends and family, if we can help make things feel better. Your dad must be so proud of you for who you've become, and happy with the care and love you've given him.
