Random Thought Thread

My son bought this brand new truck for $62,500 just before Thanksgiving, with a lot of incentives for buying last year's unsold models. I kinda wish it was mine... He traded the 22" wheels and crappy tires for new 18" wheels with very good brand new tires (Cooper Discoverer AT3 4s). It came with a free 8yr/100K Mopar warranty with $0 deductible, and with clear bra already installed, along with a free paint and fabric protection applied.

We had to completely reorganize the garage to make room for it, but his last truck didn't fit at all, as it was a long bed that was sold to him as a short bed. And with the old one spending 4 weeks in the shop with the transmission stuck in park on the very day he took it home in Feb, and then another 3 weeks in the shop in October with multiple cylinder misfires, RAM did a buy back on the 2022.

Dad's surgery (bypass) is supposed to start around lunchtime and last several hours. Thank you all for the prayers and well wishes. I'll be sure to let you all know.
He’ll do great, Jo, bypasses are pretty damn routine now a days. Having just met your dad, he was strong, gruff and seemed like he would be hard to hold down. I think he and I would get along swimmingly. What I like most about him though, is even after all these years, he seemed a bit skeptical of Nathan and his worthiness to be responsible for his little girl. I am pretty sure he is gonna feel the need to recover quickly to keep an eye on that questionable marriage choice you made. Don’t even get me started on what he thinks of him as a knifemaker……..

My best thought are with you, your family and that fine man.

Dear Nathan the Machinist Nathan the Machinist & Jo the Machinist Jo the Machinist ,

Just some random thoughts from me "Sum Dum Phuk whom you don't know from a hole in ground":

1) Continue to take care of yourself & your family first.
Sending positive thoughts to Jo's Dad's for a speedy recovery!

2) Nathan has posted before that he hates pre-orders and that it puts a tremendous amount of stress on him to deliver. From an outsider looking in and I could be entirely wrong about this, but CPK is not in the same position as that guy on YouTube who has to gaslight everyone as often as possible & blame their inability to fill a 5 year+ old backorder due to Magnacut de-carburization problems. Even though the pre-order states, "NO REFUNDS.", I do recall Nathan replying to someone stating to contact Jo for a refund if they couldn't wait. I believe madcap_magician madcap_magician said it best, "...pre-order if you can afford the investment, forget about it & it will be a pleasant surprise when it arrives." Falling asleep while driving is no laughing matter and is a definite wake up call (pun intended). This is coming from a person who almost sideswiped a California Highway Patrol Officer after working a graveyard shift & burning the candle at both ends.

3) ID theft is no fun says the person who's had to make an ID theft report 3 times. Once an ID theft victim, always an ID theft victim. Since Jo lost her ID, keep an eye out for signs that you've been victimized. Fraudulent credit card charges, mail stating that I opened a new cell phone account and ordered phones, and a phone call from a nearby bank confirming my appointment to apply for a loan were the FBI clues for me to call my local law enforcement agency (SARCASM-the evil Po Po that keeps doughnut shops in business -SARCASM). Best preventive measure so far has been to freeze my credit record with Experian, Equifax & Transunion. An unavailable credit record means any new credit applications (loans, new accounts, etc.) will be denied. When I do need to open a new account, I can simply log in to Experian's website from my phone and unfreeze my credit temporarily for the application to be approved and re-freeze it immediately after.

Sorry for the wall of text but I'm at work and have time on my hands temporaily.

Definitely not a guy.

Thank you. You never even occurred to me to worry about identity theft. I was just concerned with getting back to Charlotte. Ugh
