Random Thought Thread

funny story- I rode up to the top of the mountain yesterday, passed a dozen hikers or so on the trail, taking my time and being friendly like the gentlemen mountain biker that I am. I had my knee pads strapped to my pack since riding up with them on my knees sucks. Anyhow, get to the top, have a sandwich and relax a bit. Time to shred, so I put one knee pad on and then...whoops, I only have one knee pad. By then, the hikers got to the top and sat themselves down to take in the view. Just as I was about to ask if anyone found any smelly riding gear on the way up, one of them asked if I lost anything. Well, shit! Yeah, thanks so much! I can't reliably crash only on one side, I'm more into equal opportunity when it comes to falling off my bike and besides, I really wanted to ride a different trail down and not have to keep my eye out for my missing gear. So, one of the guys came over with my knee pad, looked me in the eye and said, "is your name Lorien?". I'm like "yeah, who are you". He told me his name is Mike and that we cross paths every ten years or so, he did look slightly familiar. Anyway, he's like " you still ride bikes eh?" and I'm like "yep". Then he says; "man, you must be like a million years old by now".

I really like the micarta. I'd have taken a plain Jane if it came up first, but I'm glad it didn't. I have a nice mix of "with" and "without"...so I'm good with both.

I’ve owned several 21s and a 25 with the inlays, but could never warm up to the inlaid models. Plane jane if I’m going to spend pistol money on my next folding knife!
