I had a Jeep 81 cj5 with a 302 in it. It would eat drive shafts and axles. But it would pop wheelies. I was 16 at the time. You know that Movie, 'Training Day' (2001)?
I had the same 1979 Chevy Monte Carlo. But it was gold. No half vinyl top. Base-base model.
I stuck a 396 big block in it. Broke an axle and the wife at that time crashed..
The cross pin in the diff. It sheared off, right in half. Spider gears went everywhere. Crappy little axle with too much motor. The transmission was a 350 turbomatic.
She stuck it in park and it kept rolling. Hit a signal pole.
Goodbye car. Sold the mess to some soldier.
(I'm an 80's child and miss my car.)
