This is an unfortunate reminder of a story I'd like to forget. Many apologies in advance.

Back when I was a much younger version of myself, fresh out of high school and living on my own, I had a downstairs neighbor who was a sweet elderly lady. Despite having a worthless daughter who was a constant leech, this neighbor was actually a positive presence in the small apartment complex I had moved to. She was constantly bringing over baked goods and they were always, without fail, simply divine.

One evening, she dropped off a fresh batch of fudge. It was quiet and I was enjoying a pretty good book, accompanied by coffee and aforementioned fudge. As my wife can attest, I am hard to distract when I'm in the middle of reading so who knows how long it was that I was chewing before I realized that the piece of fudge was long gone and something else was just refusing to be broken down by the usual mastication. I pulled it out of my mouth and to my shock-turned-to-horror, I laid eyes on a significant piece of a keratin-based object - and it wasn't hair.

I don't really care what digit it may have come from - I am, to this day, still horrified. I never looked at her treats the same way. Good thing, I suppose, I only lived there for about a year.

Lol, yeah a few of my blades have been claimed by my daughter. Congrats to you gents!

Just got my first boy. He is Crazy into knives! Luckily I pre-planned a little incase this happened (with my daughter or a potential future child, aka my son now 😋) got 2 hdfks instead of 1 (also in case it was stolen, which is how I lost my past 2 main knives)

Naw, I worked as a medtec in an old folks home when I was younger. From what I saw gents never stop working thei...... the pole.

Good news is the ladies seem to out live the gents by insane significant margins, like 80% ladies, so it was like a smorgasbord for those pops still hanging in there. Stds were rampant but at that age who cares?

Yoko, what I do is use my call and get a flock (murder) of a 100 or so of them flying around the neighborhood like a huge Alfred Hitchcock black cloud of death so that all the people come out because sometimes the noise is loud enough to drown out traffic! I had a few hundred circling an Applebees one evening and almost cleared the restaurant out, people inside said the noise was so loud they had to come out and see, other people just sat in their cars and wouldn’t walk across the lot due to all the commotion in the sky haha.

Crown hunting can be extremely hard so most of the instances of me getting clouds of crows flying over the house or something is just me practicing when I see a golden opportunity to get a bunch coming in, otherwise most times hunting I just have a few flybys. We do have some Falconers in the area though and it’s cool to watch them work, I mostly see them used on pigeons in parking garages and old building sites.
