So I'm looking at just north of $14K all in for a new roof, new gutters and guards.

Or, roughly one HDFK.

Didn’t you get a bunch of hail with all the nutty weather……??? You could put on some crampons and walk around the roof before the adjuster shows up

Home repairs are so crazy costly….we got a new roof couple years ago that was expensive but they did a great job.

Random musings: The other day, I was having a conversation with my wife. I was trying to make a point and she wasn't understanding me. After trying to reword my thought 4-5 times, I realized that it really wasn't worth the effort and it wasn't of any importance anyway; I simply failed to convey my point in the slim window where it would have been relevant (to be clear - MY failure, not hers).

I feel like I get in those kinds of situations here on the forums sometimes. I am getting better at preemptively detecting where one might get stuck in a game of "round and round" but sometimes I get caught.

Random…I was clearing snow off of my bulldozer at the cabin yesterday towards dark and heard a super loud scream (my cabin is miles from anyone). I never saw it, but assume it was a lynx. I see tracks but never see the cats.

No unfortunately. 2 winters ago one visited the cabin and left tracks all over but I have never seen one in the wild. A trapper I know used to catch some near my cabin. A couple I know were hiking pretty close to Anchorage and watched 2 frolicking all over a hillside for quite a while. Very cool animals!

My son split his face on the corner of our stupidly sharp edged coffee table last month. Took him to the ER and after a 6 hour wait, he was given a blob of glue on the cut. The cost of this blob of glue was $3000.
