This "new" International Paper Micarta is similar to the Westinghouse material I have but a fraction of the price. They bought the Micarta brand from Westinghouse in the 80s.

The weave, color, texture, machinability and translucency are very similar to the OG Westinghouse, however it's only about 30 years old so it hasn't taken on the dark colors of the antique material.

That was my thought. I'll be interested to see how these look after a few months of carry/use.Leave that knife outside in the sun. See how long it takes to darken.
