Random Thought Thread

For me, it's a want (luxury) item for my current CPK collection. If for you the criteria is need vs not really needed, your trepidations regarding a $650-ish investment into a beefy heavy 10" chopper, albeit the indomitable CPK-HC is quite understandable. I'm sure a few will show up here and there later on but at what additional cost, if not on Fridays sales. That's the important Q which you must ask yourself in case you have a change of heart.
 
I've thought about it for weeks now! I have the ultimate big boy CPK and that's the BC! You're right about the need vs not really needed aspect. I think I have all my large choppers in order. Now the FK2 or the DEK? I'm on board like a passenger! Highly anticipating those knives coming out!
 
Hadn't realize till ow that there were only 5 x HDFKs avail for today's sale. That large 10" in the line underneath (OP in the stickied in the Next Sale thread) the sale alert had totally fooled me (not too difficult) into thinking that there were 10 x :eek:

I actually went to claim another one, before my AHA moment!

23.5 ounces IS NOT HEAVY for a 10 inch chopper
Edit: Please excuse me for my error in the weight listed above-The actual weight is 23.2:rolleyes:

The only way to know for sure is to get one.


I doubt you’d have trouble selling it if it seems redundant.

Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha! This one made me laugh! We would be the most hated people on the planet. But what the heck, sure!:D

For some reason, I just had the random thought that it would be rather exciting to act like pirates and play chess with Utility Fighters as chess pieces - since we're talking about multiples. Every move would allow one to unstick and bury the tip in the board. So we'd need at least as many as there are chess pieces. I'm sure Nathan would not mind setting up to mill each handle scale like a different piece. :rolleyes: Mike

Hahaha, I love it. And if he still has some waiting for heat treat, we could have the Carothers maker's mark engraved in 24k gold, too!
